Frankly speaking, the best surprise of our road trip in Scotland which was globally first class memory Imagine an old hunting mansion coming directly from the 19th century in front of the bay, with a typically green English loan falling smoothly in the sea. Some sailing yachts quietly moves around their binding, giving you the wind direction. Lounges and bedrooms...

Having been lucky enough to travel round the world and stay in some pretty amazing hotels, This one really tops the bill. The shieldaig lodge was stunning from start to finish, nestled in a small bay in Gairloch the setting is beautiful and tranquil. On arrival we were greeted very warmly and taken up to our room which surpassed my...

Quirky hotel oozing character and charm. Shieldaig Lodge is hidden on the edge of the loch a mile off the Gairloch road. It’s recently undergone a cosmetic freshen up but thankfully hasn’t lost that wonderful patina and slight feel of history that makes it a splendid destination. If the modern, plastic, squeaky style is your thing then you’re not really...

The food is perfectly prepared and beautifully presented usng local produce wherever possible, dinner is an a la carte menu with a good wine choice. Aperitif and digestivs are well covered...

What an amazing hotel - recently renovated and with absolutely stunning views over the loch. It is also beautiful as seen from the water. We explored the walks nearby and called in for drinks and were hugely impressed with the general ambiance and quality in this 'get away from it all' setting. Staff are extremely friendly and the place has...

Many thanks to the staff for making us feel welcome. We stayed only 1 night (July 2016). The hotel is fantastic with lots to do and a great bar. We had a nice dinner. We toured the grounds as well and they are very nice.

The Shieldaig, a beautiful old hunting lodge located a short drive outside of Gairloch, is well situated for long walks and driving tours. Our room was comfortable and updated, but it was the public areas I enjoyed the most -- the various sittings rooms and the bar. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere was relaxed. The hearty...

We found this hotel by chance for our north 500 road trip and it was the best one of our trip. Lovely, friendly and knowledgeable staff really made the stay memorable, coupled with top quality food, beautiful views, the bar with huge selection of whisky and gin plus a very decent bed. Breakfast was cooked perfectly. I had to wrestle...
