Just to say as I don’t really do reviews but I had to as the food was amazing and great value and in such a lovely setting, I’m a fussy person but we had a great experience and you should try it as we have been back a few times now and it’s been 👍
I have stayed here a couple of times on business, decided to stay here as standard of cleanliness and food were high. Really great to see nothing has changed, two fantastic meals and breakfasts, able to share with my partner this time, thanks to all the staff
This is the second time we have been to the White hart. The food has been 10/10 both times, the rooms are clean and comfy, and the staff were brilliant. Bed was big and comfy, bathroom was clean. We will be back.
Had eaten here recently just with my husband & had a great meal so thought we'd go there when our adult children & partners came. Everything is very COVID safe. The staff are fantastic. The food has a South African slant which makes it really interesting. We went for the sharers as starters & then traditional Sunday roast. Certainly no shortage of food & all brilliantly cooked
We stayed here for one night last weekend as my husband was doing the Henley swim. Firstly the good bits - the staff were lovely and very smiley and helpful and the food was really tasty - we ate there for dinner and breakfast. I am gluten free and felt there was plenty of choice for me, which makes a nice change! Not entirely convinced the tables are spaced out enough but I guess they have tried their best. Now for the not so good bits...We had a room outside by the beer garden and whilst it was a huge room - unfortunately it was just so so tired and a bit shabby. To be honest, it felt unloved and that the rooms aren't a priority to the pub. The bath had a constant drip that has left a permanent yellow stain, the bath mat had a brown stain on it and the mattress felt like it had been slept in by a thousand people as you sank into a pre-made shape - even if it has been slept in by that many people, you certainly don't want to be thinking about it as you go to sleep and the bed head had a huge crack in it! The carpet had so many stains and general wear and tear - and whilst it may have been clean, it certainly didn't look it. The door to the room was on its last legs and didn't fill me with confidence when locked as we went out and the heavy duty blinds had seen better days. The TV wasn't working, it actually didn't even have any cables connected to it - unfortunately we didn't notice until we were tucked up in bed for the night! Whilst the theme of the rooms seem to be 'shabby chic', i think our room took it to a whole new level and there was absolutely nothing chic about it. We had our 20 month old with us and I just didn't feel comfortable with him touching anything as wasn't convinced it had had a decent clean. In normal times I wouldn't have been content with the cleanliness but especially with everything going on at the moment, you would think that places like this would be extra vigilant with cleanliness to make guests feel at ease. Such a shame but we won't be returning and actually we decided to stay in the surrounding area for an extra night, but went to their sister hotel 'The Crown' in Playhatch where have stayed before and it was absolutely faultless. Sorry The White Hart, but I would definitely recommend taking a leaf out of their book with regards to your accommodation.…
