We stayed over night at the White Hart in Nettlebed after visiting Old Luxters winery Our double room was spacious & clean with a large shower the room could do with a fresh coat of paint but considering what pubs went through during the lock down the painting can wait awhile. We ha a evening meal the food was very good the staff friendly & service good. Next morning we had a great breakfast hosted by the governor who was a great host. I would recommend the White Hart.
Excellent food genuinely hospitable service. Surf and turf ribeye steak cooked to perfection. Chocolate fondant best on the planet. Prices reasonable and honest. Lovely friendly and relaxed atmosphere The real deal, thoroughly recommend.
We had a family birthday celebration at the White Hart for 17 people in the function room. It couldn't of gone better. The staff were amazing, so helpful and friendly. We had a fantastic Sunday lunch meal. We were a mixture of ages and everyone loved it . Thank you we had a great time.
We had our wedding reception here. A very big thank you to all the staff that made our wedding reception a really lovely day. The food was all marvellous and service wonderful. We had several rooms booked; they were all lovely rooms. They did a joined breakfast for us the next day, again lovely food and service, but I think they need a new coffee machine. We had an amazing day, many thanks
Was very surprised to find it classed as a 4 star. Our room was a little on the tired side, the bent key made opening the door very difficult. Mattress definitely needed replacing. Paintwork in need of re doing and carpet stained in places. Bathroom was nice with a roll top bath, but no thought had gone into it. Nowhere to put anything when in the bath. A shelf or table nearby would have been appreciated. Ended up with bottles floating around in the bath! Unfortunately the second night we were there, there was an altercation in the pub garden with very bad swear words and threats going on. I was trying to get into the room very close by on my own (I am female) and it wasn't easy with a bent key and not particularly pleasant listening to language that would make a sailor blush! Eventually someone came out to disperse but not a nice end to the evening! Saving grace was food. Breakfast was very good, although service on the first day was very poor. No orange juice, then no glasses, no cereal dishes then coffee machine broke down. None of this was seen to by staff until I pointed it out. Second morning service with different staff member was a lot better. Not worth the money, definitely not a 4 star. Will not be returning.…
Food and staff are both good. What let’s this hotel/pub down is the lack of upkeep and general maintenance. Litter everywhere, table tops dirty and furniture etc stacked up in full view. Paint and a very good clean is needed too. Mattress needed replacing in our room.
Having stayed at this accommodation on two previous occasions we were looking forward to another weekend break. Booked our rooms last year, and having been their before we chose our rooms and had received e- mails confirming our reservation. On arrival we were told the rooms we taken . The rooms they had allocated for us were not we we wanted’a huge disappointment’. We had booked a table for an evening meal. Probably the best bit of our stay as the food is good pub food although even this experience was marred as two of our party had to wait for their food food for about an hour. The rooms were ok, but beginning to look a bit tired with some tidying and basic maintenance required. The outside decked area from a distance looks a lovely place to sit and have a cold drink, but as you get closer you’ll need to watch your step as some of the decking is rotting. The tables all needed a good clean, The breakfast experience could also have been better. No fruit! The pastries were sparse and gone before we got to them. Had to ask for tea bags, cereals and milk. The cooked English breakfast was good - a Highlight. If you book don’t expect too much!.…
We had a really nice lunch here. The young staff made us feel very welcome and there was plenty of room in the nicely laid out restaurant area. The food was excellent, including the South African favourite, Babootie.
The staff are all so friendly and the room we stayed in (Toffee rm 2) was beautiful - full of charm and character and on the hottest day of the year so far - the fan in the room was very welcome! . The food was excellent and very reasonably priced; we had lunch, dinner & breakfast here and all were outstanding. The icing on the cake was that dogs are welcome. Thanks for a wonderful stay.
We booked this overnight stay at the last minute and we were so happy that we did. Beautiful, quiet room, amazing SA food and hospitality. (The ribs!!👌🏼) We will be coming back soon. Thank you Ted and team for your hospitality.
