A cold Thursday afternoon in Late November. Popped in for a couple of drinks with three friends after playing golf. A friendly reception by Tom Deck and a great real fire was very welcome. Good beers and pots of tea. Excellent.

We've had a few drinks/meals in here over the last few years and have always loved the warm and cosy ambience. When we visited for drinks and a meal last year, we complained about how awful our room at the Schooner was and we were invited to take a look at their family room (Rm 4). We were blown away...

Dog welcome, which is a plus also the décor and the feel of the place was very welcoming. Plenty of choice for food, and when I ordered wrong in error, they were happy to change my choice free of charge. Only visited for lunch though so cannot review the rooms, but if the pub part was anything to go by...

Lovely friendly inn with accommodation above. Great welcome from the hosts, who couldn't do enough for us. We had a problem with the shower which was sorted out straight away and we were offered a bottle of wine to compensate. Breakfasts were very good, freshly cooked. Meals in the bar were good too. Great location for exploring the east coast...

Had dinner here one night whilst staying in a local cottage. Tried to book but they don't take bookings for non residents which meant we couldn't eat in the very nice bar which was full, so ate in the restaurant which was also a lovely room. A few residents were in there which made for a very friendly atmosphere. Menu...

We come here once or twice a year and this visit coincided with the beer festival held at the nearby Red Lion From arrival to departure the staff are very welcoming and friendly. Nice cosy bar with good food and a plentiful drink selection. Room was clean and tidy and warm with a decent shower in the en suite. Wouldn't...

We stay (Golf Society) over the Road, in the Hope and Anchor, but attend the Sun Pie night and their Quiz Night/Curry night Wednesday and Thursday. Landlord runs a good pub, with friendly staff and the food is the usual Northumberland 'Plenty'..basic food but well cooked and certainly no complaints from our crew. Quiz night is one where, even if...

Called in for Sunday lunch while visiting Alnmouth (1st time in area) lovely friendly welcome. Lunch was served fairly quickly even though we had been warned there may be a bit of a wait. Very good meal but too full to try a pudding, will definitely return if in area again.

Staff were always friendly and polite, room was beautiful, great view and breakfast was yummy and easy :) Only fault would be that in the room I stayed in, I could hear the conversations and TV of the room next door, other than that, perfect stay!

Visited here for Sunday lunch after a lovely walk along the beach. It was a toss up between here and another pub in the village but we opted for here...wish we hadn't bothered. How this place gets such good reviews is beyond me. We ordered diet pepsi/coke to drink which was neither- I think it was Rola Cola (see Peter...
