I had a wonderful stay here recently- was visiting the area for a bar mitzvah. I must say I particularly enjoyed the steak and chips cooked to perfection by the resident chef (very polite man). The only issue i have is that everything was very expensive - i am normally a chicken nuggets guy but the wonderful aroma from the kitchen was irresistible so I invested many shekels in those wonderful steaks (and ketchup).

Excellent 5 night stay on HF walking holiday. Welcoming, friendly, helpful managers and staff. Healthy, nutritious, home cooked food. Good vegetarian choices for breakfast, packed lunch and dinner. A refreshing alternative to the norm and very enjoyable. Rest of group enjoyed their chosen dishes. Bar to relax and enjoy drinks and coffee after meals. It would have been ideal to have the coffee served hot and an after dinner mint would have finished the meal experience off nicely. Clean, spacious en suite room with tea/coffee making facilities, toiletries and tv. Lovely quiet coastal village location with stunning views of estuary leading into the sea, complete with beautiful sunrises, beach, boats and birds add to the tranquility. Good choice of local walks with friendly, knowledgable guides. Heated boot room to dry walking gear. The hotel followed all the appropriate COVID-19 secure measures and were rightly strict in ensuring face masks were worn, hands washed and sanitised and social distancing space observed. Guests were respectful of the measures which did not hamper the holiday.

I had an enjoyable 3 nights at Nether Grange. The staff were very helpful, pleasant and the food good. The position beside the sea and beach is just wonderful. My room was on the first floor above the kitchen, so I got a little bit noise in the early morning and food cooking smells. Otherwise I would have rated it a 5.

This HF Hotel really does cater for walkers. Very personal service from all the staff and superb food. From the beautiful terrace you have extensive views over the sea and golf course. Guided walks available, sensible prices, heated boot room and food with a local theme and local ingredients. All this plus the magnificence of the Northumberland coast.
