This was our fourth visit to the Captain Cook and as always it was very enjoyable. We always stay in the family room with our small dog and the room is very clean and welcoming with its nice bathroom and good size TV. There was a band on in the evening which didn't bother us as we enjoyed the music... More

Visited here on recommendation from the self catering we were staying in. Menu bit basic but food was well priced. Had sirloin steak with veg etc and it only cost £12.90. Tasted really good as well. Husband had gammon steak and also cleared his plate.

I wrote a review for dinner here last year after my boyfriend and I happened upon this pub and really liked it. We had some weekend plans cancelled and decided to give the b&b a try. The staff are great, very friendly and helpful. The rooms are nicely furnished and sweet. We stayed in room 1 and my only small... More

A nice informal place at the top of the hill. The room was a good size, impeccably clean with good quality bedding. The large bathroom was again very clean, plenty of towels and a selection of things you may have forgotten. For me, the power of the shower was a bit disappointing, and the green battery indicator on the emergency... More

We stayed for 2 nights for my husbands birthday and we were pleased with it all.. We stayed in room 3 which was a good size, very clean, and equipped with complimentary toiletries and a good selection of tea coffee etc "and bottled water" too which I liked. We had our evening meal there 1 night and although very nice... More

We stayed for one night at the beginning of June. The rooms appear to be recently refurbished, and room 3 was lovely and spacious, the only problem being the bright green LED safety light. We ate in, and can heartily recommend the home made steak and ale pie - gorgeous! Breakfast was also good. Will happily return.

Signed up for a triple room whilst walking The Cleveland Way. On arrival we were offered a room each (3 girls and 2 dogs). £50 each including breakfast. Rooms were huge, clean, massive tv, lovely towels and great service. Breakfast was great even being short staffed. The dogs were allowed in the bar (one being a chewer therefore can't be... More

Stayed in Room 4 on this occasion where the same high standard has been maintained. Beautifully decorated, spotless, crisp white sheets and fluffy towels. Being vegetarian with a garlic allergy can be a nightmare eating out but not for Amanda who prepared a special garlic free 3 cheese broccoli and pasta bake - lush. Breakfast was as enjoyable which included... More
