We had a Sunday night treat at the Blue Lion in East Witton The room was comfortable the whole hotel so full of atmosphere( just needed a ghost) ,a superb log fire in the bar and our meal was very good .The surrounding area was stunning just 5 miles from Leyburn with Middleham just between.Would recommend to all.

My hubby and me went for my birthday weekend. Very relaxing and the bar is full of atmosphere and the place was toasty warm. I think the large superior rooms r slightly over priced but they were comfortable and well presented but good do with maybe having some furnishings replaced they were starting to look a little shabby. But that...

Rooms are, in our view, clean and just adequate. Noise can be a problem in many but the rear is a better option during winter months or the courtyard. Bar and dining rooms are comfortable and characterful with worthwhile open fires adding to ambiance. Drink choice is good and not excessively priced but food is, from our experience, more speculative...

Whilst expensive, on reflection it is definitely worth it. The high quality goods and service shines thorough throughout making for a relaxing and indulgent stay. Great location for walking, fishing or just relaxing. Helpful staff, good food and a decent wine list. Would recommend.

What a lovely find! Log fires, mellow furniture, lovely food and service and a very comfortable room. A very relaxing and enjoyable overnight stay and a very nice breakfast. All well worth the money. I will definitely go back.

7 of us went for an overnight stay to celebrate a birthday and it was an excellent choice. We were first there and got the choice of rooms but I would have been happy with any of them. The petite double was a good single but was petite for a couple. We felt welcome from the start. The bars had...

The evening dinner menu was definitely something special and it was all delicious. We were very pleased we were not eating in the bar though as it felt extremely cramped, the tables were very close together and some seemed to be in the only place to walk through the space. The room was overpriced for what it was - I...

Stayed at the Blue Lion for one night in December - 2 adults, a 13-year old and a dog - all in one room. We were very comfortable, slept well and enjoyed a lovely meal in the bar area by a roaring fire. There were 2 or 3 starters and mains that were vegetarian and the menu overall had something...

Arrived Xmas Eve to stay until 27th Dec. Superior Modern room in courtyard. Large room and en suite but scarcely 'superior'. Shortcomings: 1. No decent bedside lights. ( Uplights undeserving of the name since they were dim and lit nothing.) 2. Faux leather peeling off dressing table. 3. One armchair between two. 4. Ditto upright chair. 5. No flannels provided....

My partner and I had dinner here the other day and really enjoyed it. It's a tad more expensive than most pubs in the area but a significantly more adventurous menu with great service. We ate in the bar which is a lovely old room with high backed seating and a log fire. It was packed but the staff managed...
