Stopped in for a meal during the week. The food was certainly nowhere close to its description; uncooked peas, reheated dry lasagne and a seafood platter which must have been frozen fish bites from a supermarket. I would not recommend going here for any food. On a plus point the selection of ales makes stopping for a quick drink worthwhile... More

On arrival we had to get to our room via a tiny and mucky kitchen. Carry luggage through this and upstairs. Many sorts of cleaning materials were left around and not used frequently. At breakfast-time we could help ourselves to cereals, as long as you did not expect to eat them from a bowl and if you hunted in the... More

Had a lovely meal here (lasagne) and they catered for my young daughter perfectly, you just have to ask and the lady made her a meal she would eat. Friendly service and lovely location can't wait to visit again next year for the Richard III festival x

First of all......this is a review for the Black Swan in Middleham - not the one in Leyburn. Stayed here for two nights for a friends wedding. Now, my companion and I are not fussy people, we stay in all kinds of accommodation (hostels, hotels, bnb's etc) but this was so bad I have had to write a review. To... More

My son picked me this pub/ B and B by looking at trip advisor reviews. Many of the high ratings refer to the Black Swan Leyburn or when it had previous owners that now makes more sense. We were greeted by the bar manager who was very untidy and frankly gave a very bad impression. The room we were given... More

Really enjoyed our stay friendly staff felt part of the family. Food superb. Rooms a little small for a big bed but en suite absolutely superb. Woken up too early curtains should have been inside the windows so the windows seat could be used but overall would definitely stay there again

I don't expect much for £80.00 a night including breakfast between 2 people....but on arrival (after cycling all day to get there) we obviously turned up during some kind of issue the staff were have, so after one lad ignore a line of customer to stock a pretty full fridge we eventually stored our bikes and found our own way... We stayed for one night. The room Was clean but although there was a no smoking sign in the room there was a slight odour of smoke in the room. The bed was slightly uncomfortable but as we were only there for one night and after having a long day that wasn't really too much of a problem. It was... More

Very nice hotel with very nice people. Food took a little while longer than anticipated to reach the table yet a free round of drinks kept the smile on the face. Nice sausage i must say and the scampi was a smashing treat too. Room was clean and provided a nice setting after a day rambling. Check out at 10am... More

This is a lovely pub with very friendly staff in a lovely area.. We didn't eat here as we had already eaten but the food looked nice. The pub was very quiet for a bank holiday weekend but the few locals were nice and the staff put the football on for us. It is also located just in front of... More
