Stayed for 2 nights as in the area for a friends wedding. Arrived with the dog to be told NO DOGS allowed. Oops! The owner, Paul, soon made up some rules which were easy enough to live with, don't let the dog in the restaurant otherwise he is very welcome. Much appreciated gesture. The stay was wonderful. Very good staff,... More

My wife and I stayed for a night to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. We wished for something a little different, time away from the children, and something we'd really remember. This place definitely supplied those things and more. The service was great. Greeted by the owner and chef, Paul, when arriving and straight away gave a very warm welcome.... More

Our anniversary could not have been spent in a more perfect hotel. I adored the gothic style, the beautiful gardens and the comfy room. Everything about the place was so unique and special. The staff were so welcoming and warm towards the guests but also seemed to have such fondness for each other and the business which really rubs off... More

Arrived to a really warm welcome and nothing was too much trouble. Lovely room in the art deco style which was really well done. Set in great grounds and the building looks like a type of folly but was an old boarding school. Main thing about this business is that it is clearly ran on a budget and in need... More

Thank you so much for you review. I really appreciate and take on board your words, you are right we are on a very tight budget and I'm grateful that you could see beyond this and focus on the warmth of the staff, it is truly our ambition to take the Priory and the Serendipity restaurant forward and we will... I've spent most of my adult life living in louth before moving to Scarborough and the when we came back to visit family it was an obvious choice. The staff are very friendly and do anything to make your stay pleasant. We had the pleasure of staying in the four poster room... beautiful.. yes it needs a little bit of... More

Disappointed after reading the reviews, I booked in for over a week but had to bale out early. The internet wasn't working properly (I was told it would be fixed the following week) and both the bar and restaurant were closed for a few days. The room was small but although it was a double, it would be tight for... More

Thank you for your review, we were aware of the short term problem with the wifi which was rectified just after you 'baled' and the signal strengthened in a big part down to you making us aware of the problem. I am sorry that you only feel your stay warranted two stars as we all genuinely tried to be accommodating. More

This hotel never fails to deliver in spades on every front - building, gardens, food, staff & the welcome!! Whenever we have stayed here it feels like we are being welcomed as friends & this visit was no exception. Our arrival was rather early, meeting up with family for an overnight stay, but Paul had our rooms ready and we... More

Where do I start? I honestly can't remember the last time I felt this welcome in a hotel. Paul and his team put heart and soul into making your stay as enjoyable as they possibly can. The building itself isn't your average faceless corporate venue, and I found it's slightly faded grandeur charming and refreshing. As an example, a drink... More

Where to start. Every expectation about this hidden little gem of a place was exceeded. We stopped over in the hotel as it was our wedding anniversary, and the staff could not do enough to make us feel comfortable and right at home. Izzy, served us for the evening and ended up staying well past her working hours and kept... More

It's difficult to express how much we love this hotel. We booked our wedding almost a year ago and let Paul organise everything.
