The Cricketers' Arms

The Cricketers Arms is the ideal place to stay whether you’re on business, travelling to the airport, attending a wedding or simply visiting the area. We have 10 beautiful, individually designed bedrooms all with en-suite facilities and lots of homely touches. Some are more modern, with contemporary furnishings and splashes of bold colour; others are more traditional, with antique pieces and soft, muted colours. All have really comfortable king or super kingsize beds, with good linen, luxurious throws and piles of cushions, as well as powerful showers, fluffy white towels and lovely toiletries. One room even has a stunning free-standing bath. There’s also a digital flat screen television, direct dial telephone and free Wi-Fi in every room to use during your stay and you can treat yourself to champagne and chocolates on arrival, too.We have a choice of rooms from doubles, superior doubles and twins to junior suites and family rooms – three have their own staircase up from the restaurant so you can put the children to bed and enjoy a relaxed supper. Eat, and sleep well and have a hearty English breakfast the next day. Enjoy great value too; rooms start at £65 for the night, with a family room costing £135, including breakfast. As well as being ideal for getting to or from Stansted airport, the Cricketers Arms is just a stone’s throw from Parklands in Quendon, so if you’re attending a wedding there and need somewhere to stay, just give us a call. We also have a big car park where you can leave your car for free during your holiday if you travel from Stansted. Stay one night with us and get your trip off to the perfect start, and if you’re back late, have a comfy night with us before heading home. We can book transfers for you.

I’d be the first to accept that not all pubs welcome walking groups. But our leader had given the pub lots of notice ie several weeks and it was apparently written in a diary. To say that a welcome today was absent would be rather an understatement. About half a dozen of us ate,

Was welcomed by friendly staff and upgraded to the supreme double room with no extra cost. The bedroom was good and bed was comfy but the bathroom was a complete let down. The shower curtain was on a wire and would not stay across cubicle opening- kept sliding to the middle which

The deal we had (late booking) made this an excellent value overnight stay on the way to Stansted airport, but even at the full b&b rate it’s not a bad option. Rooms are adequate: not big, but the bed was comfortable and the room was very clean and fresh. Breakfast was excellent

Do you have disabled/easy access rooms or lift access?
Hi we have 3 rooms on the ground floor, 2 doubles and 1 king size which can be made into a twin. Room 1 has a walk in shower and the other 2 have a step in shower. There are no lifts but there is access with no steps.

Hi Emma, I'm the Assistant Manager of the Cricketer Arms in Rickling Green where you've posted your comment. Unfortunately you have posted it on the wrong side as you've stayed in the Cricketers in Clavering which is 2 miles down the road of us. I would appreciate it if you could change that over. Warm regards Tanja Vollak Assistant Manager
"Courtyard rooms gave element of independence."
"Avoid small tables and inexperienced waiters."
"In the summer book a room at the back of the hotel because at the front is the beer garden and village green so can be a bit noisy."
"Book early and ask for a room at the rear"
"the Lords suite had triple windows overlooking the cricket green and local school but very quiet. A few stairs to climb to reach the room."
