We stayed at the Cricketers Arms while visiting family locally. Being on the ground floor, up until 11.30pm staff were outside loudly chatting. As it was hot we had to keep the windows open but disturbed by the noise. The room itself wasn't properly cleaned evidenced by toilet not flushed with skid marks, an accumulation of dead flies and hair... More

Great location on the Green, lovely bedrooms, terrific food for both dinner and breakfast, friendly and efficient staff. I've stayed before and will stay again, lovely. If your'e over 6ft 2" phone up before hand and ask not to be put in a low beamed room

Stayed here for a anniversary getaway in June 2016 - just 1 night. Nice rooms (although avoid Room 1 as it can be noisy when staff leave late at night), try the rooms upstairs. Good food including an excellent specials board - the white choc mousse with fruit was epic. Overall a good stay and with cricket being played on... More

Paid £99 for bed and breakfast bed was two singles put together no bath no signal on my phone regardless of free wifi. The cooked breakfast could not be given as the chef failed to appear although the manager was very apologetic and refunded me £10 staff very friendly but at £99 a night beds could be more comfortable rooms... Came here for a family gathering. We were asked to pre order our food. I chose Soup of the day, followed by sausages with mashed potato topped with caramelised onion and gravy. The soup was supposed to be Cream of Asparagus. It was really thick, and still had the woody strings from the stalks of the asparagus in it. It... More

Had an amazing time during our visit to The Cricketers Arms in Clavering, Essex. You are spoilt for choice as their menu consists of fresh local produce. Fresh bread is baked on their premises. The menu may be a bit pricey, but well worth the expense considering the amount of food that is served up on each plate. The service... More

I was appalled at the rude and shameful service we received. The staff were impolite, half of the food was missing from the breakfast menu e.g. baked beans. The breakfast was cold, poor and as stated missing the menu options. I cannot recommend this establishment to anyone. We were told they are selling the place and therefore don't care any... More

The staff were so helpful and the lunch so tasty and we'll presented. I really wanted to give an excellent. But the room let that down. It was a family room. There was a leak in the small bathroom. Which they obviously knew of as they stuffed a town rolled up against the shower tray. But that didn't help the... More

We stayed here as we had a wedding in the next village. I think for the money it was reasonably priced and it included breadfast. The accommodation was clean but certain bits were slightly tired looking.. Our door handle to our room was loose and coming away.. windows were in need of some tlc. Overall a nice stay

The Cricketers Arms is the ideal place to stay whether you’re on business, travelling to the airport, attending a wedding or simply visiting the area. We have 10 beautiful, individually designed bedrooms all with en-suite facilities and lots of homely touches. Some are more modern, with contemporary furnishings and splashes of bold colour; others are more traditional, with antique pieces and soft, muted colours. All have really comfortable king or super kingsize beds, with good linen, luxurious throws and piles of cushions, as well as powerful showers, fluffy white towels and lovely toiletries. One room even has a stunning free-standing bath. There’s also a digital flat screen television, direct dial telephone and free Wi-Fi in every room to use during your stay and you can treat yourself to champagne and chocolates on arrival, too.We have a choice of rooms from doubles, superior doubles and twins to junior suites and family rooms – three have their own staircase up from the restaurant so you can put the children to bed and enjoy a relaxed supper. Eat, and sleep well and have a hearty English breakfast the next day. Enjoy great value too; rooms start at £65 for the night, with a family room costing £135, including breakfast. As well as being ideal for getting to or from Stansted airport, the Cricketers Arms is just a stone’s throw from Parklands in Quendon, so if you’re attending a wedding there and need somewhere to stay, just give us a call.
