Good service, friendly staff, very helpful. Breakfast was very good, good choice. I had kippers, which are my favourite, cooked well on each occasion. The full English was also very good. The town is not too far, only problem is the steep hill coming back. You need a good walk to walk off the large breakfast.

The photos online were not accurate to reality. The reception was messy and the lady seemed indifferent to us. As we walked to our room we could see the walls needed a serious paint job and the carpets were worn and a bit gross. The room was fine but pokey, to be fair we booked it last minute and took... Nice hotel in a good location. Stuart was a great host. Nice bar and lounge area for relaxing. Lovely garden, perfect for a summers day! Good breakfast. Plenty of parking just opposite the hotel which is handy. Would highly recommend if staying in the area.

Stayed in a family room with my wife and daughter and booked this hotel as we were looking for an authentic experience in a old style, quirky building in a decent location. Basically this ticked all the boxes, nice family room, smallish as would be expected in a hotel of this type but full of character and we found it... More

Booked this hotel for a weekend away as our usual places to stay were full. The Mariners hotel was disappointing and in my opinion, not worth the room tariff. Carpets were filthy, furniture and fittings needed attention, garden with stunning views was overgrown and unkempt. The building (which could and should have been amazing) looked tired and uncared for. On... More

the views are stunning, great location with the added bonus of a car park which I imagine is like gold dust in Lyme Regis. My husband is 6ft 7 so we had room 1 and the ceilings were low for him but it was fine, after all its an olde worlde pub!!! We were out all the time anyway. Room... More

Visited Lyme Regis for the first time with my daughter for a Half Term treat. Stayed for one night at the Mariners Hotel which is apparently where Beatrix Potter stayed when she wrote The Tale of Little Pig Robinson, although there was little evidence of this when we visited. The hotel itself is small and cosy. Overseas visitors looking for... More

I enjoyed a one night stay at this hotel. Loved my single bedroom under the eaves. Clean and bright. Breakfast was delicious. Parking very good. I left behind my adapter, camera charger and battery. They have been returned to me and I want to thank the staff (Les) for taking the trouble to do this.

I booked via Booking.com and the hotel contacted me almost immediately to offer a reservation for evening dinning. On the day, checkin was simple and uncomplicated. Private parking (although across the road) was welcomed and free. The room (#15) was small, in the eves of the old hotel, but it was clean as was the en-suite shower room. Storage could... More

Not cheap, but felt it. Accommodation has moved on in the last twenty years and this place was like it used to be. Won't be going back. I should have done more research. I have now and am kicking myself. WHat is specifically wrong? Nothing, just it all was worth half the price. Airbnb. Is such a better proposition Or... More
