My wife and I stayed here three nights. If you like a quaint and "olde worlde" this B&B is the very definition but it's also very comfortable and relaxing - and yes, it does have TV and Wi-Fi should you need it. A friendly welcome from the land-lady Trudie and probably the best fried breakfasts we've ever had. The location... More

Together with our dog we had a really good 3 night stay at this beautiful old farmhouse. The landlady Trudie is very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable, clean and the bed huge. Breakfast choice is plentiful and full English lovely. There is a large choice of waks in the immediate or close vicinity and lots of maps,walking... More

I thoroughly enjoyed my four nights at Great Sloncombe and, as a solo traveller, really appreciated the friendly and interested welcome I received. Trudie, Robert and Helen are wonderful hosts. The serene location, beautiful clean room, delicious breakfast and wonderful old home were a perfect base for exploring this part of the country. Thank you!

Despite only being able to stay for one night, Trudie made us feel very welcome and relaxed. The house is a beautiful old almost higgledy piggledy farm house, but the en suite bathroom was right up to date and the room contained everything we might need for a very comfortable stay. Loved the Kingsize bed, beautiful bedspread, and the views... More

Stunning farm stay. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves in this part of Devon, made all the more special by staying in such a comfortable home. Trudie is a wonderful host. The area is secluded but close to Moretonhampstead. The nature around the house is wonderful, so many birds and wildflowers. Will be returning again in the not too distant future.

We were delighted to have chosen Great Sloncombe for a much-needed four-night break. It was lovely to be on a working farm, with a peaceful view of fields and hills from our room. The 13th century farmhouse, with its steep stairs and nooks has been carefully adapted to include every comfort without losing any of the sense of history and... More

This was exactly what we needed - a lovely, quiet location for a week's break away from very busy lives back home. Lovely big bed, comfortable bathroom, and wonderful home-cooked breakfast every day. The location is perfect for walking on the Moors, but also close enough to drive to Exeter, Torquay and even Cornwall. We spent a day visiting some... More

We arrived on Friday with our pooch Ollie and were very impressed. Trudie was very helpful and friendly, we loved the farm and of course we had gorgeous Dartmoor at our feet! There was a good choice of breakfast and it was delicious, freshly prepared for us by Trudie and the farmhouse is wonderful, we felt immediately at home. We... More

Lovely place in incredibly peaceful setting. Part of house said to be 13th century, which seems entirely likely-.This is a very old building with all that implies-a few very low beams, uneven floors, funny little stairs and odd steps in some bathrooms-possibly not ideal if you are 6 foot 4 or unsteady on your legs. Otherwise I can think of... More

This classic farmhouse nestles within the Dartmoor National Park. This unspoilt natural environment emphasises the diversity of the precious Devon countryside. Wildlife abounds with deer, foxes, squirrels and owls, in the ancient woodland and moors. The farm itself is steeped in history, and probably dates back to the 13th Century. Our room was comfortable with the necessary amenities. Footpaths are... More
