Like the previous Pig Hotels we have stayed in The Pig at Combe is situated in a gorgeous setting. The weather was not terribly kind to us but we did manage a walk down the long drive into the village of Gittisham and explored the...More

I proposed to my wife at the old coombe house and we had the opportunity to revisit after many years. The Pig is a very different experience. They have added more rooms and developed a spar so there are more people in the public rooms...More

We ate here in the restaurant. The food is very good, not outstanding and thankfully the prices are high, but not outrageous. The food is well prepared, fresh and delicious. The food does not have sparkle of flavours from a really top end restaurant, but...More

in our view, this is one of the best country boutique stays one can experience. We stay in nearby Sidmouth every year during the summer with children, but decided to stay at the Pig for the night in January. Aside from the beautiful building and...More

Such a shame how much this place has changed under new ownership. We first visited when it was Coombe House and were overwhelmed by the friendly staff, food, ambience (huge Christmas tree, log fire, resident cat), everything! We raved about it so much that our friends joined us for a meal there some months later. The lovely gentleman greeting us seemingly remembered us from our previous visit and made us all feel so welcome. The food, as we had told our friends, was fantastic and they were blown away by the whole evening - as they are 'foodies' we were so pleased they enjoyed it as much as us. We returned recently and weren't impressed. I think the change of the name to 'The Pig' resonates the standard to now expect. Alan Titchmarsh was dining there when we visited. I wonder if he still does?
