From arrival to departure the staff were exemplary. Courteous, helpful and extremely professional. Even the garden staff went off to find the answer to a query. I read somewhere that there was resentment in 12.5% service, well not from me; worth every penny. Fortunate to pick up an excellent deal for the Hayloft and thank you for that. Great room,...

First visit & last! Thoroughly enjoyed every visit to Coombe House over the years. Can't believe what has been done to this beautiful house. Food poor & expensive. All the previous charm & ambiance has gone. Very sad.

Our three children payed for us to have a special meal for our 31st anniversary. We made our way there and we were warmly welcomed we were taken to our table severed drinks and ordered our food which was delicious. The staff were very attentive and the service was not hurried if you asked them about the food they took the...

An hotel where everyone is friendly and helpful. Our room was wonderful: warm, comfortable seats and luxurious bed. The only slight problem was no water in the Nespresso machine. A light lunch of flatbread in the Folly was excellent. Dinner for me was pheasant terrine, then crab with crab and finally a sublime treacle tart. All presented by pink shirted...

We visited The Pig between Christmas and New Year and had a fab meal. The hotel is beautiful, the staff are vibrant, very professional and nothing is too much trouble. The whole atmosphere in the restaurant was great and it felt really festive. We took our children and we were apprehensive how our 11 year old would feel about the...

We love the pig concept and having visited all the others were excited to try Combe I wish we hadn't as it nearly made me cancel our two bookings next week to pig on the beach and Brockenhurst . I booked all three during one conversation with central reservations and spent ages choosing rooms in the comfy luxe categoriy certain...

Visited for lunch on Sat 14 Jan and to be honest I have really mixed feelings about the experience. What I'm really clear about though is the impressiveness of the location and premises. For me, it was lovely and met all my expectations especially had I've also visited their places in the New Forest and Studland. I'm also clear on...

Plus: About as English as a place can be, from the Victorian butterfly (i.e. dead!) collection, to the stag's head, to the scores of Hunter wellies under the stairs. Quite beautiful. Service informal but professional - just right. Minus: I had braised brisket of beef for a starter. £7. Tasty. Small. Very small. 4 mouthfuls. That's £1.75 per mouthful. My...

We have used The Pig chain over previous years and their latest hotel in Devon is our favourite; it's rightly been receiving rave reviews in the media. We were familiar with the hotel under its previous management and the new owners have made considerable improvements on what was already a comfortable country hotel. The major change is the atmosphere and...

Having visited Combe House Hotel on several occasions, always looking forward to going back as it was a such a treat, it was always a little more expensive than other venues but it was worth every penny for the experience on the whole, the attentive service, ambience and quality of food. My parents and I decided to try the new...
