We have recently visited the Normandy Arms for four days for my birthday. Our room was lovely and cosy and had a very comfortable bed. The food was fantastic we dined there for three nights out of the four and was not disappointed once everything was cooked to perfection by Andrew and the restaurant ,although busy seemed to be made... We had an excellent stay - a very friendly reception throughout, good, spotless accommodation, wonderful food. Cannot fault the Normandy Arms and highly recommend it. Am sorry to read of a recent review concerning an unhappy Sunday lunch experience - can only say that it seems wholly untypical of our own experience and that of so many other reviewers. As... More

Had booked up well in advance for Sunday lunch with family. When we arrived, after taking 15 minutes to find a parking space, there was no record of our phoned reservation, but were told they did have a spare table. We stood at the bar on arrival, but were totally ignored, until I suggested to a member of staff that... More

I am sorry but you did not have a booking with us and we do not take bookings for 2.30 slots. We offered you a table that we had available but as you arrived at the end of the lunch service without a booking we had run out of the roast beef. you were asked for your patience while we... More

Dined there with my 15 year old son and we we ate very well indeed. Steak cooked to perfection and slow roasted blade of beef was lush. And then there are the puddings... profoundly amazing I would say and delicious is not a superlative that would stand up to the taste! Check it out, very good food indeed.

As two well established customers of The Normandy Arms I thought I had better write a review regarding the owners, restaurant and the fab food of the Normandy. We visited for Sunday lunch bank holiday weekend, having had a relaxing drink at the bar chatting to Reka and Andy we ordered our starters and roasts. The baked Mackerel was divine... More

Yes, a real gem-great room, great food and warm hospitality-all close to Dartmouth and the south Devon coast-brilliant! We had been there once before for dinner and were so impressed that we decided to make it our base when we went back to the South Hams for a three day break. If staying near Dartmouth, you must treat yourself to... More

We stayed one night here as we were meeting up with friends who lives near by, the bedroom was great, a large very comfy king size bed, lovely size bedroom and bathroom, and a great powerful shower! The pub, bedroom and bathroom is very pretty and tastefully decorated! There is a great wood burner down stairs to sit around. The... More

We had decided to be extravagant and so after an excellent meal stay the night even though we live only 5 miles away. It would have been easy to be disappointed as the closeness of our home niggled me, but we had an excellent stay and it made the evening meal more relaxing as no driving or a taxi to... More

We booked at the last minute and this was exactly what we were looking for. Clean & fresh accommodation in a beautiful and quiet village. Run by an extremely friendly couple who could not have been more welcoming. Included breakfast and we also ate here for dinner - the food was amazing! We would not hesitate in booking here again.

Another amazing stay at Andrew and Revas little gem! My husband and I stayed here for the second time in July, this time taking our 5 month old baby with us. We had an amazing stay yet again, I forgot to write a review last year! Blackawton village is beautiful, tucked away off the usual tourist trail and so peaceful... More
