The hotel was much more luxurious than we expected. Our room was excellent; only problem was that we did not know that heating and towel rail could be switched off, so it was very hot overnight. Staff were charming and hard-working. I have reviewed the marvellous food separately.

Stayed overnight prior to a Fish cookery day course. We arrived a little early and our room was not ready. We were offered complimentary tea while we waited. Our room, Demelza, was small but perfectly adequate for a one night stay. However we noticed a continuous droning noise which was very annoying and as I am a light sleeper I... More

Lovely atmosphere and attentive staff, we did not feel rushed as we had our table all evening from 18:30 until we left at around 22:00hrs. Full menu with many choices, pricey but that was expected. Definitely worth a visit, the food flavours are amazing and it was lovely to eat such well accomplished dished. For us we would not rush... More

This was a return visit to a Rick Stein hotel , having previously stayed at St Petrocs. We were given a fabulous room and warm welcome with small personal touches to acknowledge a return visit, The room was spacious, well appointed and we were extremely comfortable. Breakfast was fantastic too. We hope to return again soon,

The hotel and restaurant share the same entrance opposite a Pay& Display car park. It's always good when your reservation has gone through smoothly and you're expected. Formalities completed, we were shown to our room. The only area of dissatisfaction was that after struggling upstairs with luggage and bags etc., I discovered there was a lift, albeit notionally labeled for... More

I decided to book here after visiting Padstow for many years and reading the good reviews. We were not disappointed. Our pacifist room was simple but lovely and lead out onto a fabulous roof terrace. Breakfast was great, service was excellent. Needless to say we will be booking again.

A gorgeous location Cornwall is incredibly quaint. The room we had was very well fitted out and we had a delicious breakfast. We bought fish n chips which were scrumptious from the now famous Rick Stein's Fish and Chip store however sadly the service was less than optimal.Perhaps its time to rethink customer service and not take continued custom for... Having watched many of Mr. Stein's TV cookery classes from Spain we had talked about making a visit and savouring his food, maybe with luck even see the great man. We live in Madrid so fish and seafood are important in our diet. It's hard to judge anywhere when you compare it to the quality of the fish and seafood... More

Birthday celebration lunch to remember .... for the great service, lovely ambience, good (not excellent) food and very high price! I would give the mixed seafood plates a miss (a bit dull) and go for dishes which have tested the chefs, which were better. Worth visiting once if there's money burning a hole in your wallet.
