Went for lunch at the bistro. As expected the food was first class. The kids were made to feel very welcome. The staff were very helpful and friendly. I would highly recommend anyone to try this restaurant , I would love to go back. There was also a good specials deal if you wanted a cheaper lunch.

While we were looking at the menus we had some padron peppers and salt cod fritters which were very good. The bread was freshly baked. For starters we had baked scallops with a delicious truffle sauce and the Gremolata prawns in lots of garlic. For mains we had plaice fillets, the John Dory and a grilled hake. All were well... A family get together turned special by the staff and the setting at St Petroc. The lunch tim especial did not reduce the quality and taste of the food, served with a lovely tasting wine. No pressure, al pleasure and go for the starter tasting that gets the taste buds going. We dine a lot when at Padstow and this... More

Family of 10 (and two dogs) visited for holiday lunch treat. Sat in the garden which was very pleasant. Food was nice if a bit pricey. The haloumi appetiser went down well and the fish and steak main courses were tasty. For a half full restaurant however the service was slow. It felt like they were holding out until we... More

We booked another one of Stein's restaurants this one is less fish more bistro style dining. This place was packed and they do cram in lots of tables, the dining room was very busy and very loud, plenty of staff though who did look after us throughout the meal. Poor and expensive wine list, huge mark-up on the wine, remember... More

We booked a week in advance and we were looking forward to a nice meal for the last night of our holiday. Unfortunately we were really disappointed. We were seated at our table quickly and our drink order was taken quickly too so not all negative. 3 of us ordered the rump steak but after quite a wait we were... More

We had a Family meal of Ten, food was amazing, waiting staff attentive, a bit crowded and warm, otherwise a lovely evening, table booking for 2 hours only so a bit rushed as could have stayed there for longer to chill and relax.........

We visited on a Sunday lunchtime in August and were quite surprised the place wasn't booked out. Guess the economy is even having an effect down in Padstow. First off, our only complaint, and it's not about the restaurant. Parents, if your child is screaming please either placate it, take it outside or stuff it's mouth with a bread roll.... More

This bistro has been consistently good over the years we have visited it but this year the food was exceptional. We were a party of ten and every dish chosen was delicious. Some of our group had the set menu, which is great value, and some dishes were chosen a la carte and even with wine etc we still found... More

Just back from 2 nights at St Petroc and it was great. Fab hotel, fab food and fab location! The breakfast in the morning is great, I recommend the granola and full English! We were in a cosy room but it had plenty of space, lovely bedding and a great shower! Great weekend!
