We stayed here a few weeks ago for the murder mystery weekend as we thought it sounded fun. And it was! We had a lovely couple of nights. We upgraded our room and had a lovely sea view room on the top floor. The bathroom was lovely with a separate bath and shower and the bed was a super king... More

My visit this time was a much better experience than last time. We were allocated a "Garden Room" which was larger and a lot quieter than our previous experience in rooms higher in the building. It also has a pleasant outlook over the estuary to the village of Rock. We were attending a private function so I cannot comment on... More

Spent 2 nights at this hotel. Old hotel built in the early 1900's. Nice ambience and warm Christmassy public rooms. Reception staff friendly. Lovely view from dining/ lounge area. We have stayed before paying twice as much and definitely not worth the full cost on its website. However, on a deal seemed reasonable given the location. 5 minute easy walk... More

The whole hotel is in need of refurbishment. Reception area very shabby - threadbare carpet, peeling paint work and faded wallpaper. Sadly this theme continues throughout. Our room very small and cramped. Mattress soft and lumpy. The bed was adorned with a couple of dirty cushions. Our room was above the kitchens. We could hear music from below plus the... More

An enjoyable 2 night stay at this lovely hotel, our small allocated room was altered by Emma the Reception Manager and this made a very big difference to our stay and to this report. This lady together with all the reception staff were pleasant and helpful. The dinner menu had improved since our last visit ,with more traditional food which... More

we had a great two night stay with our Beagle Rocky who was made very welcome with a pack of goodies in our room when we arrived and lots of info re; where we could walk him locally. It is £15 a night for the dog which is pretty pricey, but he was made to feel so welcome we didn't... More

We held an evening event at the hotel for 65 people. Most of the party stopped over that night and several over 2 days. The staff were excellent and nothing was too much trouble. The food in the Harbour Restaurant was also excellent. Well done to you all.

We stayed here for one night as a anniversary treat. They upgraded up at a reduced price to a sea view room and it was lovely ( room 42). They surprised us with a bottle of bubbly which was so kind of them. All the staff were so friendly and accommodating. Everything about our stay was great and such good... More

We stayed one night here and had a lovely room next to the garden with a view over the river. The room was very large and well-appointed and the hotel itself is interesting. There is parking onsite which is very useful and it is only a short walk into town.

Just spent two lovely nights in The Metropole, used the Richardson group of hotels for the last 4 years on a 'start of winter break', usually at Fowey, but decided to try Padstow. As usual always impressed by the attentive staff and the restaurant food, the Chef always tries something special within the tree courses and it always works -... More
