Myself, hubby and 12 y/o son visited Dernwood Farm on the 2nd week of July. It's a very beautiful place. We stayed in the Encampment (Sycamore) for 3 nights. We had our own fire pit where we spent most of our time there...cooking, grilling. The encampment is so private and we really enjoyed the wild feel. The toilet and shower... More

Pretty little campsite nestling in the Sussex hills. No cars on site which was good. We stayed at the wild camping area which was a large field surrounded by trees. There are lots of things to do in the Forrest from dens to rope swings. You are allowed camp fires and they sell all the logs and local meet you... More

Family of four just returned from a long weekend in the Wild Camping field. We were welcomed very warmly by Emma who gave us a quick informal overview of how the site works and the best local pubs etc. Our 8 and 10 year old kids were able to help with shifting the equipment from the car to the field... Myself and my fiancé stayed for 2 nights in the encampment and it was perfect! We were lucky enough too have the whole place to ourselves which added to the wild feel. Emma was amazing and made sure we had everything we needed. Beautiful family run business! Will definitely be back. Hopefully in the cabin next time

Had a wonderful weekend with friends in the Encampment last weekend. It gave us a great mix of woods for the kids to explore with the inevitable and much enjoyed swings, and a little bit of seclusion so the grown ups could have a nice catch up. Love being able to build a real campfire (it was needed as the... More

I really enjoyed this campsite. The fact that you have to walk for roughly ten minutes from the car park to the campsite works as a very good chav filter, and even though the place was fully booked when we visited, there were no issues with noise or rowdiness. Due to the nature of the campsite, which is located in... More

We have been coming to Dernwood for the last six years and have experienced the Wild Camping Field, the Safari Tent and now the Cabin. Every year we say "This is the best" however I really don't know how next year can possibly be any better!!! We particularly enjoyed the hot tub. This camp site is a must if you... More

A last minute decision to go camping meant we couldn't go to far afield. A quick Google search for sites where you can have fires gave dernwood as one of three options. A quick response via email confirming availability sealed the deal and I'm so glad it did. What a beautiful site, a working farm that produces meat you can... More

We visited Dernwood Farm for the first time over the May Day bank holiday weekend and loved it. We camped in the wild camping field, which we had to ourselves on the first night due to the chilly weather (we had come prepared for that!). The field is beautiful in the spring sunshine (although clayey so be prepared for muddiness... More

This is our second stay here, this time in the Cabin. What an amazing place. We had dinner around the camp fire with a tawny owl visiting us every night; evenings in the hot tub; great walks to country pubs. A fab week off grid. The shop sells its own meat. We even got to see a newborn lamb and... More
