Stayed for two nights with my wife and mother in law. We all wanted to relax and go somewhere different and special. We were not disappointed. Accomodation is as it says on the box. Food is best I have ever had in a hotel. I have paid four times as much in top eateries and it did not come close... More

We had read the reviews before we booked and were not disappointed. Any negatives comments were completely forgotten once you relaxed in your room and were so well cared for by staff. Food fantastic we ate there two nights and were not disappointed, and having seen the vegetables whilst walking around the beautiful kitchen garden made it all the more... More

My sister and I, along with our mom, stayed at Stone House in the midst of a two-day trip through East Sussex. I loved everything about the place. Each of our rooms had distinctive character, and the overall setting was magnificent. And the food! Truly spectacular (Mrs. Dunn is an amazing cook). My morning stroll through the exceptional kitchen garden... More

This is a very interesting B&B. On the positive side, it was beautifully furnished. The food at dinner was very special, really the sort of food you would get at a Michelin starred restaurant. Our room was beautiful with a huge bathroom (as big as our bedroom). However, it felt as if we were guests at someone's house and not... More

We once again visited Stone House in late September for a weekend break. This time we took advantage of the 3 nights for the price of two offer available: exceptional value. As ever we arrived to be warmly greeted at the door. Bags can be taken straight up to rooms while you relax with a pre-dinner drink. Dinner is always... More

Beautiful room, beautiful gardens, delightful staff, excellent food. We had a wonderful weekend being looked after by Mr & Mrs Dunn in this quiet and peaceful manor house. We arrived tired out and were cosseted from the moment we arrived till the moment we left, feeling fully refreshed. We even managed to wander across the village green to the pub for pint and... Based on reading other reviews, I'd have to say we were lucky: we found the 3-day visit teriffic, possibly because we were the only guests during that stay, so we had much opportunity to chat with both Peter and Jane Dunn. We stayed in the 4poster room, which has a bath that rivals the bedroom's size. The food was good,... More

My wife and I went on our annual weekend to Stone House in the early Autumn. Little has changed so if you did not like the hotel before please do not return! If you did, as we do, you will find it an ocean of tranquility in a busy time-period each year. Arrivals are always met by staff and a... More

Stone House is eccentric....quirkily, intriguingly and at times puzzlingly so, but throughout our 5 night stay it never lost its charm. Mr and Mrs Dunn clearly have a successful formula and when you stay here you are treated like a personal guest. We loved the setting and the stunning grounds, and found the village of Rushlake Green to be a... More

First the good:- The Stone House is a really lovely old house in fine surroundings of a lake and attractive garden. The evening meal we had was excellent - using fresh produce from the garden and local suppliers. The staff and owners were very nice and the meal was very good value at £30 per head (the house wine is... More
