Had a 2 night stay here whilst we explored North Norfolk and the location was excellent for this. We received a friendly welcome and thought the accommodation was spacious and clean. The bathroom was of a good size, modern with an effective shower unit. A little passing traffic noise was experienced early morning but was not a problem The breakfasts... More

stopped here for lunch with my 2 teenage children and 2 golden retrievers. What a lovely old traditional pub! Everyone very friendly ,there were lots of locals having lunch, who were lovely and welcoming. We was told we could sit wherever we wanted with the dogs. My 15 year old son ordered the half portion of macaroni cheese, it was... More

A maximum 100% for the crystal clear pint of Woodford's Wherry served from the barrel. Steak and kidney pudding made quite a good Sunday lunch. We saw lots of pies on the menu, but backed off when we learned that they were meat in bowls adorned with puff pastry lids - that's the lazy chef's way of serving food in... More

This is not a smart gastro pub, but it does serve up the best traditional food that you could hope to find anywhere as we have found after many years eating here. On our last visit recently my wife had Norfolk beef and ale pie and I had local rabbit hotpot with real vegetables just like my mum used to... More

Having eaten and stayed here many times over the last 20 or so years it's really disappointing for the food to be now so poor. After a visit last year with group of friends we put the underwhelming food down to an off day. Sadly this year the food was equally uninspiring and fairly bland. I am a lover of... More

The pub was easy to find but, very little parking. We sat at one of the tables in the bar area because we had our dog with us. It looked like there were further tables through the archway. To order we had to go to the bar, which meant walking between two gentlemen having a conversation seated at the two... More

We were told about this pub by friends so on a recent weekend break to Norfolk we went for dinner. What a lovely old, quirky pub with such character. The food was amazing nothing flash or fancy just real good traditional food ( I would recommend the rabbit ) that tasted great. After our main course and 2 drinks we... More

I love this pub and after 15 years or so it is still one of my favourite places on the planet to eat. Yes it is traditional, it is rustic and it serves fresh no messing local and seasonal food. The bar has some great guest ales, cider and wines. The staff are friendly and the overall experience and ambience... More

Had a meal at the pub last Friday . We mainly ordered pies which were good and lot,s of vegetables.(no chips) we all enjoyed the food and the pub is interesting. Will probably return. If you are looking for a huge menu then give this a miss, but the pies we had were good.

I love what is on offer here, excellent wholesome food without the phaffing frippery of "is everything to your liking, etc every two B** minutes" its proper unpretentious home cooked food I was brought up on, Yes!! I'm a country boy who luckily never came near to a silver spoon and all the noisy hype it generates, SORRY THEY GRATE!!, back... More
