We stayed at The Merchant's House for 1 night at the end of February. Lizzie and Dennis were amazing hosts; welcoming and friendly but knew when to leave us to our mini-break - perfect balance. The room was amazing - we stayed in the Blue Room (but will return to stay in the 4 poster room!) The breakfast was out...

We stayed in the four poster room with luxurious bedding and a huge bathroom. Everything here is just perfect, Liz and Dennis are the perfect hosts in their delightful home full of beautiful antique furniture and tasteful art. The house is a one minute walk to the sea, they have parking space, and breakfast does not get any better than...

Wonderful, like home from home, but better! Lovely friendly hosts. Made to feel very welcome. We stayed in the four poster bedroom. Very comfy. Own bathroom across the hall, with dressing gowns supplied if needed. Very clean with with beautiful decor and attention to detail. Beautiful breakfast room, with a huge vase of fresh Lillies on the table which made...

Stayed here on a very cold winters night. A small and friendly B&B ran by 2 helpful people. A top quality cooked breakfast was followed by a long walk by the bracing North Sea. No wonder it's such a popular place for walkers, I can highly recommend this small seaside town, virtually untouched by modern life.

Another utterly superb one-night stay at The Merchant's House. My partner and I were lucky enough to stay in the beautiful Blue Room, and had a wonderful night's sleep, leaving us refreshed, relaxed and ready for breakfast - which, as ever, was made with immense care and the best ingredients. Liz and Dennis are superb hosts.

Fantastic stay at Merchants House for one night. We couldn't believe our luck to be staying in the four poster bedroom. Sheer luxury for a night. The hosts Liz and Dennis were lovely and made you feel so welcome and the breakfast was like a feast with fresh cooked bread. I fully recommend this B&B it is superb value for...

You will be hard pressed to find nicer hosts. Liz & Dennis came to our rescue during a recent walking holiday of the Norfolk Coast where we had been let down severely by another B&B. Their hospitality and welcome was excellent and their property a joy to stay at.

My partner and I stayed in the four poster room for 2 nights on a 6 day coastal tour of East Anglia. We were delighted not only with the warm and loving service by our hosts Dennis and Liz, but for their attention to detail in all the rooms. The breakfasts were excellent and we even got a car park...

Merchants House is more than a luxury B+B because we felt Liz and Dennis were letting us share their gorgeous home in Wells. Nothing was too much trouble and we can't wait to return. So handy for Quay and exploring Wells by foot. Superb breakfasts with home made bread! Faultless.
