My wife won a Facebook competition for a steak meal for 2 at the Thomas Paine hotel and we visited today for the meal. Well as much as I'd like to find a fault I can't,Both our meals and our wine(free) were nothing short of perfect. In fact both our meals were seasoned to perfection and more than enough for...

This hotel isn't just a hotel, it is the birthplace of revolution. Imagine sleeping where the radical author Thomas Paine (The Rights of man, Common Sense) was born. Paine inspired Jefferson, Washington and Napolean. He upset the church and was put in trial for treason in England. He escaped death during the French terror. The bonus is that the food...

Gez hosted a great evening once again in honour of the hotel's namesake! For the fourth year straight a fitting tribute to Thetford's most famous son and revolutionary thinker was a fantastic evening with delicious roast beef, Yorkshire pudding, perfectly done fresh veg and crisp potatoes, the kitchen was definitely in top form. The banoffee pie and coffee followed by...

Let's get the positives in first. Lovely hotel, attentive and helpful service and a good venue for a get together . Starters were OK...not much cooking required for most of them but acceptably nice food...soup and sharing platter both went down well. Mains were disappointing and overpriced ...meals came out at different times and it was clear the preordered choices had...

From the moment we arrived the staff were very friendly and helpful. We had bikes which the staff allowed us to store in one of the function rooms and we were able to access the bikes when we wanted to, without fuss. The food is outstanding, I was blown away by how good it was. Me and my girlfriend have...

We attended the 2016 New Year's Eve party at the Thomas Paine and had an absolutely wonderful time! Drinks flowed freely, food was delicious and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The staff were attentive and professional, despite being busy and having to spend their New Year's Eve working watching everyone else enjoying themselves. The entertainment was superb and the...
