We stayed here for a special birthday celebration. We checked in, went to the room and then walked down to the river. We bought a blanket with us and sat in the sun at the riverbank. Really beautiful setting. The room was lovely and very clean. The shower was particularly good and the bed was very comfortable! The service was excellent and we were made to feel welcome and valued. Dinner was also delicious. I’d throughly recommend and I’m sure we’ll be coming back!

My wife and I wanted somewhere special to celebrate our Diamond wedding anniversary on September 17th 2020. We had wanted to keep the celebration as a small family affair which was just as well due to the pandemic restrictions. I had booked Crab Apple,Sea Beet and Beechnut Premier suites which are all situated in the grounds alongside the main hotel building and each has it’s own patio with garden table and chairs. Each suite is very comfortably furnished with excellent facilities and walk-in showers. We started our celebrations with a very tasty afternoon tea which, due to the invasion of wasps at this time of year, was served in the dining room rather than the walled garden, but at least we were able to enjoy the tea without fear of being stung. The weather was very kind to us and we were able to enjoy the lovely grounds before setting down on the sunniest of the patios to go through the many cards, including one from the Queen and also the photograph albums we had put together covering the sixty years of our married life together. Our daughter and son with his wife thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon reminiscing. In the evening we returned to the dining room for our celebration dinner and we all agreed that the food was outstanding. Everything was beautifully prepared and presented with wonderful sauces and flavoursome accompaniments. The waiting staff were all very efficient and friendly as indeed were all the hotel staff, and we could not have asked for anything better throughout our stay. Thank you Norfolk Mead for making our entire stay so memorable and enjoyable.

We have just enjoyed 4 days of bliss at this beautiful hotel in the Norfolk countryside, our first visit but by no means will be our last! We knew we were in for a treat from all the glowing reviews and how true they are. We chose the Beechnut and thoroughly enjoyed the seclusion and privacy it provided. The meals for superb from start to finish, easy to see why they have a rosette award for fine dining. There is obviously a very talented, creative chef who knows how to be adventurous with flavour combinations. Staff were all bubbly and friendly, made us feel right at home and very welcome. The only very tiny point I might mention is that when staying 3 nights the evening menu didn't change, which wasn't a problem for us as we enjoyed everything but may be others. We can't wait to return next year and highly recommend!

This hotel never lets you down. Wonderful friendly staff. The rooms are fabulously comfortable and spotlessly clean. A very good breakfast with plenty of choice. Hired the boat for the day and the hotel made us a hamper full of food to take with us. What a lovely day we had messing on the river spotting a kingfisher and heron amongst the odd visit to some pubs along the river. The afternoon tea is an absolute delight - The Lemon drizzle cake was sublime. Get ready for us because we will be back - see you soon. The bedrooms in the hotel are

We had a lovely stay at Norfolk Mead Hotel, our second stay. We stayed in the Hawthorn Suite with the terrace. High standard of decor & Covid controls throughout. We hired the boat & this was an experience, which I would highly recommend. Food as before outstanding, big thanks to the chef, that my intolerance to certain foods were noted and the food was delicious. All staff are very attentive and this certainly makes the hotel stay an amazing experience.
