I stayed here one night on my recent coast to coast walk and rate this 7/10. Large room neat and clean, but one of the few places I stayed where the wifi doesn't work in the bedroom. Good breakfast, nice host.

Made welcome with tea and cakes, great size bedroom with large modern bathroom. We had a menu for breakfast (not just the usual "full english") and the best scrambled eggs during our hike. Would definitely recommend and stay again.

This is a wonderful place - comfortable, well run and exceptional in every way. Katie greets her guests and offers afternoon tea and afternoon sconces with jam and clotted cream (very yummy!) and is happy to make you dinner booking. We stayed on the top floor in a room that was very commodious with a great bathroom (separate shower and... More

My husband and I stayed at Castle view for 2 nights at the beginning of July. We had an excellent room- very big, comfortable bed and great bathroom with spacious shower and lovely big bath (ideal after walking). The welcome was great too- very friendly and we were offered tea and crumpets and then home made scones the following day... More

We were undertaking the Coast to Coast Walk and stayed for one night in a very comfortable and spacious family room with a luxurious en-suite shower room. The owner was extremely welcoming and we were met with tea and home-made scones. Breakfast was excellent with a varied menu. The B & B is very convenient for the town centre. The room... More

We were undertaking the Coast to Coast Walk and thus only stayed one night. Owner was extremely welcoming and we were met with tea and scones which was an excellent way to be greeted. The B & B is small but very comfortable. Rooms were of a good size and quiet at night.

We had the advantage of being in a large double room with a lovely view of nine standards in the distance. The room is comfortable, and the B & B is very conveniently situated for the town centre. We were welcomed with a cup of tea and scone on arrival each day, and felt very relaxed. We hope to return... More

Once again we stayed a week with Katie on one of our motorbike tours. Nothing is too much trouble, comfy room, the cup cakes are pretty good too! Thanks for another great stay. Good choice of breakfast, happy to make additions, omission as requested.

We occupied 3 rooms for one night of our Coast to Coast walk. Our hostess was very accommodating and worked very hard to ensure we were comfortable and had everything we needed, as well as running around after her little boys. She served tea and homemade scones, our breakfasts and packed lunches were delicious. My husband and I occupied the... More

We had previously stayed with Katie's Mum on another walk and were disappointed that we couldn't book there again. We shouldn't have been Katie's place was excellent well appointed bedrooms and en suite shower room. A warm welcome included scones and a great breakfast choice from the very attentive Katie. Hope to stay again. Thanks,Katie.
