Hotel lovely and mostly very friendly staff. Spa needs a big makeover and it was a little bit disappointing the outside jacuzzi wasn’t working. However, the best thing about this place was Grace. A totally fantastic and very attentive waitress. She made our day. Thank you Grace.
We visited this venue with family. The front of house staff are very polite and welcoming and the venue is relatively nice. The bar area is nicely decorated and has a nice terrace area overlooking the lake. Sadly, that’s probably where the positives ended for us. The bar staff were absolutely shocking. At one point I was the only person at the bar and still waited nearly ten minutes with three bar staff present to actually take my order. During dinner we had to request our drinks 3 times and even left the restaurant ourselves to go to the bar to collect them but got told to go back. 40 mins later they eventually arrived and considering we had actually only ordered two bottles of cobra, it was a wonder what took so long. The food was dry and not particularly pleasant and also very slow to come out. We got offered two dining times to choose from, 6 or 9. We went for the later thinking it would be quicker and have no kids around but sadly the service was pretty poor. Also, I wouldn’t recommend it as a spa retreat at all. The pool was full of kids, there was very few places to actually sit and the only other spa facilities were a sauna and a steam room that can only be described as smelling of sweaty feet. And if you do go, try to avoid any ground rooms facing out onto the carpark area. For some reason, there appeared to be an impromptu staff meeting outside of our bedroom at 4am which wasn’t overly helpful to getting a good nights sleep. As you can imagine, sadly we couldn’t recommend it at all. And we did feed this back directly to the company and were told that they were training issues that would be fed back to staff.…
We stayed here 1 night for a work do. We were fortunate to be upgraded. Room was spacious and well appointed with gowns. Quiet and comfortable - with window that opened for some fresh air. We used the spa facilities which were good. Pool was lovely to swim lengths and the saunas enjoyable. Towels a plenty at the spa. Fresh cold water to drink and showers that could do warm or cold. There was one shower by the jacuzzi that was in a very bad way! This could do with being fixed.
I stayed here when I was down in Marlow for work. I have stayed in a number of Crowne Plaza hotels in the past and this was by far the best! I checked in late at night and requested late check out, as I had a number of meetings I needed to attend virtually in the morning. The member of staff checking me in could not have been more accommodating and I was allowed to check out late for no additional charge, which I felt was great service. We had a drink in the bar before we headed up to bed. Service was quick and staff were very pleasant. When I made my way up to my room I found that I had been upgraded to a suite, which was just fabulous! I had a choice of locations to work from in the room the following morning. The room was spotless and finished to a high standard. The only thing that let is down slightly was the very average bathroom, which was a little bit cramped compared to the rest of the room, which was outstanding - but that is me being very picky! There was complimentary Coke, Diet Coke and Water in the fridge, which is a lovely touch and I have not seen this in a hotel for a long time - unfortunately I did not realise they were complimentary at the time, but my colleague in another room (standard room) had checked this with the front desk. I had booked breakfast but I was too exhausted in the morning to go down. My colleague did go and said it was a really good buffet breakfast. Thanks again to all the team for a lovely stay!…
We stayed here on first night of our trip in the South West, nice room, spacious, good linen. Breakfast was a good full English buffet, with choice of eggs and also lots of fruit, cold meats and cheeses. French?? Concierge was particularly pleasant but all staff welcoming. Nice to sit out at back of restaurant for tea after breakfast overlooking the lake. Would recommend
Myself and my husband just returned from a lovely overnight stay at the Crowne Plaza in Marlow. We were there for the Pub in the Park festival on Saturday. We were early so left our bags with the friendly reception staff who explained how to get into Marlow via a beautiful riverside walk. Our room was spacious and the bed very comfortable. We have been to many hotel chains and survived many breakfast buffets! - this one was a cut above - everything was hot, the scrambled eggs were creamy (usually they are dry and overcooked) and my poached eggs were cooked to order and runny in the middle as they should be. I don’t eat dairy and asked for an alternative which was provided by Mir - restaurant manager? - who also gave me some earl grey te for the room. The service was excellent, everything was replenished quickly and Mir quietly made sure everyone was happy without being intrusive. Our last stay was at the Continental at the O2 and it couldn’t have been more different; twice the price and half the quality! Well done all and thanks again…
On arrival the hotel staff were very friendly, and myself and my husband were upgraded unexpectedly. We were so happy as we haven’t been away for 3 years and made our weekend more amazing. Food was ok slightly disappointed at the choice. The hotel was so clean and scenery outside was memorable. The service, room and staff were amazing. We had such a lovely weekend. Thank you Nitin for an amazing service. Definitely coming back.
Always likes staying here, until now. Food options are really poor. Nothing in stock and for a 4* hotel the could should have been better. My food order was served cold, sent back and I spent the evening unwell. Told the reception on the following morning and they couldn’t be bothered, didn’t try to follow up or check or apologise. Short staffed and even a sign on the bar to say. “Aggression won’t be tolerated”! Could be an amazing place but not well managed I feel. Won’t be back.
Wonderful stay. Clean facilities, tasty food and friendly members of staff. Customer service was spot on. Nice spa including sauna and steam room and received a lovely treatment. Room was upgraded upon arrival.
Have stayed here twice now in the last 3-4 weeks & on both occasion, front of staff have been great, really friendly, informative, they talk to you whilst you are waiting. Cannot remember all their names, but thank you to Karim & the others who assisted us between 8th & 10th April & again on 29th April - 1st May. Rooms were clean & love that you have all the facilities you need, from an iron, a fridge & use of the Spa & pool whilst you stay. The only fault I would say is the food was not great, it came luke warm & on the first stay felt discouraged from ordering the drinks I wanted because I was told by restaurant staff they were busy & would have to wait an hour, but they did arrive a lot earlier in the end with the food. Even the public spaces appear to be well kept/tidy & clean & the grounds you face when having a meal is lovely, with a small play area for children, not far from the lake. Would go back again because of the service Karim & the others give you & also have the breakfast, but for main meals think the options down by Beaconsfield Services are better.…
