This picture perfect hotel nestles on the banks of the river Thames and Marlow weir. The executive rooms were comfortable with Espresso coffee a fridge and complimentary water. The early evening bar staff were shoddy..took our order and forgot us...eventually we went and reordered but when the drinks arrived they were wrong...how hard is it to get a beer and... More

Looking for a place to overnight on our river journey down stream the "Angler" looked to fit the bill perfectly, they had a mooring (but book it in plenty of time) and apparently a good restaurant as well as being a hotel. We arrived around 2.00pm to be greeted by their mooring assistant ! checking in we were advised our... More

I imagine this was a pretty swanky place in it's hey day. Not any more. I was looking for an alternative to the soul-less, corporate hotel, as my reason for being in Marlow was strictly business. I arrived pretty jet lagged, very early in the a.m. The (soulless) person at the desk dragged me down a rabbit warren of hallways... More

Stayed here for a second time on a Thursday and Friday night to avoid the "wedding" crowds. A perfect location right on the Thames. Our room (5) had a lovely view of the river and weir. The rooms are very comfortable with kettle and coffee machine, complimentary water, bath robes and slippers. All of the staff are friendly, polite and... More

We arrived, by boat, at about 3.30pm and sat down on the lawn to await service...... 1) after a few minutes, with no sign of staff, we went to ask at reception 2) they said that the lawn was closed today ( no explanation.....no explanatory notice) and we'd better go through to the terrace by the river 3) after 10... from nobody in reception to not being allocated a riverview room, even though they were available, to the lawn being closed to guests for the sake of a very small tea party to the information that you have to give to obtain the free wifi to the pancakes not being available "at the moment" - I would not hesitate in... Room was gorgeous albeit a little more attention to detail when it comes to cleaning and dusting is needed, also spelling mistakes in the welcome pack. The breakfast buffet that was served the next day was cold (glad I didn't pay the £21 extortionate breakfast price rate as it was included in our total stay) Hotel staff were all very... More

As a renowned hotel in the area we were expecting better. Whilst the setting is beautiful, the view does not make up for the service at this hotel. We arrived to find our rooms had been moved due to a wedding in the hotel which was fine, however upon being issued rooms from a very confused and unorganised reception team,... More

Great location, nice hotel but very poor service and very long wait in the Riverside Restaurant for dinner. Bar service was a bit slow but otherwise breakfast was fine and staff were friendly and helpful. There was a wedding reception going on and it may well have been that this caused the kitchen to be under too much pressure.
