Greeted cheerfully by the receptionist. I had just walked from the station about ten minutes away in the rain. I was early but my room was ready so I was able to check in an go and get warm and dry. Tea and coffee making facilities in the room. The Rose-hip tea was delicious and a good antidote to the... More

We booked a double roomin June for a very competative rate for Switzerland at £89 per night. Hotel is about 5 minutes taxi ride from the station, which is on the mail line from Geneva to Zurich, roughly half way between the two. It is close to the cathedral and several eating places. The hotel was very clean and the... More

This claimed to be a 4 star hotel. Would that be because of not having a bar or restaurant? Or because my "superior" room looks and feels like a tiny dorm room? Or because they don't supply the little niceties like a pen to jot down some information? Or because it's such a small room there is no place to... More

Wonderful hotel within easy walking distance of many of the sights, restaurants and activities in Fribourg. The staff is very helpful and wonderfully professional. The rooms are very clean and nicely appointed. It is a charming intimate hotel.

I stayed at the hotel for one night whilst on a business trip. This was my visit to Fribourg and I found the staff were very helpful in giving some assistance on what to see in the area. Its location was right in the center of Fribourg and around a 20 minute walk from the main railway station. The rooms... More

I've been in this hotel for just one night. I found it nice, with clean rooms. The concierge is open up to 10 pm. It's plenty of restaurants and bars all around and it's near the Tower Bell (maybe too near), which beats the clock every 15 minutes. Maybe this is the reason why I found a pack of earplugs... More

My little room had a great view of the historic old center, functional furniture, and was quiet at night (or anytime as long as you leave the window closed). Breakfast was good--freshly squeezed orange juice, but no eggs. I saw a fan in the closet, indicating there is no A/C, but in October that was not an issue.

We arrived in Fribourg in the evening in need of a hotel and after trying the recommended ones without success, we phoned the Hotel de la Rose which had a room at a very good rate for Switzerland. The room was very plain but had all the comforts as promised.

Nice location and clean hotel...... The only problem is no air condition....the weather was hot and we could not sleep, even they do not have fan in the room...... The reception is not 24 hours they close at 11pm...... You can buy parking ticket from them but you have yo buy one every day you stay.

I stayed here for 4 nights. The staff was very friendly & helpful even when I arrived at about 1am due to flight delays. The room was not overly spacious but adequate and nice - hard surface floors and firm mattress, both of which I prefer. My room was near the back and the view was only of the back... More
