I love Parador de canadas del Teide ; everything is perfect. I can enjoy Teide and national park with no people ( early in the moring), the silent of the night, the excellente breakfast and unforgettable dinner from Fernando chef..

Dear Luisa1072x, Thank you for your comments. Las Cañadas del Teide is an enchanting place and the Parador allows you to enjoy it to the upmost. Good facilities, including a pool and spacious, well-equipped rooms, and the best are the strolls through closed spaces of the Teide. We look forward to welcoming you back to Las cañadas del Teide. Kindest regards.

Hotel's Favorite
We stayed for one night in January 2023. We have been to Las Canadas several times before but, this time, made it special by staying overnight at the Parador. This hotel is in a great setting. Our large balcony had a brilliant uninterrupted view of Teide on one side and the nearby rock formations on the other. The room was large and comfortable. Both breakfast and evening meal had a good choice. When we arrived at the Parador, we checked in and then, as the weather was so good, booked online to go on the cable car up Teide - just an hour later. The cable car station is a five minute drive from the hotel. It was cold (as expected, so you need warm clothes) but bright with clear blue skies and great views. There is a good quiet atmosphere in the Parador with pleasant and friendly staff in the restaurant and at reception. The room was very clean. At night, the clear sky gave a great display of stars. Before breakfast, we had a walk as the sun came up and saw only three other people around the rocks instead of the hordes who are there later in the day. It may be a one off stay but a memorable one.

We had booked to have lunch there and arrived on time but no one was in the dining room to welcome or seat us. We eventually seated ourselves and chose the Canadian lunch. We were served a very large plate of chorizo, various fatty bits of “casserole “ , half a cabbage, squash, potato and carrot which arrived at the table completely cold /lukewarm though the plates were warm. As we were the only diners it was not a case of the kitchen being overwhelmed. It was eventually heated up but still proved a gastronomical challenge. Without question, this was the worst meal we have ever experienced. We have always loved Paradors and were extremely disappointed.

We had dreamed of staying here to feel the remoteness of the crater by night. At last we succeeded in booking a superior double. The welcome was friendly and we could book a table for dinner without having chosen half board. It turned out later that half board gives a fixed rate for the same menu, but about half the dishes come with a surcharge. You can easily get a great meal with fresh produce without the surcharged dishes. Our room had a fantastic direct view of El Teide, dark wood furniture, bathroom with a bath and double sink and complimentary lip salve as well as other items. The hotel has a policy on reducing the use of single use plastics although it still has room for further steps here. We took a quick hike around the rocks for a magnificent sunset, but beware that the last 200m is a scramble steeply uphill, and the path is not clear, so hard to navigate in the dusk. Allow 1,5 hours for the circuit if possible. Dinner was delicious and beautifully presented, large portions and a tireless waiter who dashed around bringing our dishes very promptly. The bed was very comfortable with different pillows. Before we turned in, we popped outside to do a bit of stargazing and enjoy the silence but had to walk a bit away from the hotel as guided tours offered the same experience and the lights from the hotel and cars made it harder to see. Better to take a lamp, walk a bit away, then turn it off for viewing. Breakfast was extensive and offered a number of cold cuts, cheese, fruit, yoghurt etc and each guest had their own tongs for serving themselves, which must go a long way towards good buffet hygiene. As well you can order hot dishes but they took some time to come. A professional cycle team was staying in the hotel at the same time and we could enjoy our breakfast alongside of them - considerate guests. All in all a lovely stay and perfectly situated to enjoy the park without too many other people.

We had read that the Parador Hotel is a recommended stop for lunch when visiting Teide National Park and I can see why as there aren't many options otherwise. To eat here you don't actually go into the hotel, there is a separate entrance to the large cafeteria via the gift shop. The issue we had eating here was that the queue moved soooo slowly!! We arrived mid-afternoon so it wasn't even peak lunchtime! After our hike we didn't buy enough drinks, so I had to go back and queue again - another 20 minutes! just for a few bottled drinks! The food was also quite expensive and not that great. I didn't enjoy the burger and I bought pre-boxed pasta salad which was 90% plain pasta with no actual salad except couple of tomatoes?! I had assumed the salad must be underneath the pasta that I could see in the box, but no it was pasta all the way! €54 for basic cafeteria food and drinks for 3, plus extra for more drinks as each soft drink was around €4 each. Good points are that there is plenty of seating, both inside and outside, and several high chairs. The meals all came with hot chips even though menu board didn't specify; so burger, hot dog both came with chips etc. Sign at cafe toilets says have to pay €1 to use toilet, but I asked staff and it is free for customers. There is a disabled / baby change room. We under-estimated how cold it would be and forgot our jackets! We were in shorts and tshirts (although obviously had jumper, coat, hat and blanket for toddler!) which is not advised in December! So the gift shop here saved us, as we could buy an extra layer. We ended up with 2 matching Teide Park hoodies :-) for under €50 in the gift shop, which I thought reasonably priced. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The parking here is busy, but we easily got a space arriving late morning in December. There is a large free public car parking area at the Parador and a second parking area just across the main road for the Roques de Garcia, so park at either and just walk across the road. The rocks are clearly signposted and located a 5 minutes walk from the Parador Hotel. There are a couple of toilets in the free visitor centre nearby, which is next door to the Parador Hotel. We hope to return to Teide National Park in the future to go on more hikes. Hopefully when the kiddies are older we can be more organised again and carry picnics on our hikes like we usually do, but this large cafeteria certainly does the job if you get stuck like we did.

The hotel is in a fantastic location and very much one of a kind. Rooms were nice, clean and spacious. HOWEVER the restaurant did not live up to any sort of expectations, food was of a poor quality and dull. It was really difficult to get service at the bar even as a resident. The cafe is used by almost every visitor to Teide and it took us 40 minutes to get 2 coffees and a terrible Tuna sandwich (take your own food) plus they charge you €1 to use toilet. In summary stay in hotel but somehow don't eat. Lol

We’ve been here three years ago, at 2019 and our impression was completely different - looks like covid affected this formerly lovely place. 1. Hotel does not provide baby beds. Though I booked a room for 2 adults and a baby. 2. Hotel’s restaurant became disgusting. Three years ago it was a pleasure to dine here. Today, we‘d been served slightly warmed main courses. It’s obvious they were not cooked over here as they were served for more than and hour, slightly warm and they tasted like rubber.

Room Tip: Do not dine here. Starters are rather good, but main courses are not worth it at all.

We loved our stay here. Waking up to a truly breathtaking view of Pico Tiede was something else! Not all rooms face the mountain so ask - we had room 110 which was unique with a balcony. Can’t criticise the room except to say it was quite basic and the bath needed changing but the helpful and friendly staff and position made up for that. Everything worked, which you can’t always say these days. Small indoor pool which was a nice touch after a day walking mountains. Restaurant lacked personality but the food was fine and a decent choice.
