As stated it is a bit dated in the rooms and in some of the outside areas but that aside it was a really great stay. The staff really are the star of the show and so accommodating and friendly, they really made our stay. Our lady who cleaned our room over our 2 week holiday was so thorough and left the room sparkling and was a delight to deal with. Highly recommend block 7 junior suites ( well worth paying the extra, our room was 7106) overlooking the infinity pool, sea and the sunsets were truly amazing from our huge balcony. Loved the cocktail bar, they used to make us up our drinks as we got there every evening, knowing just what we liked. A friend recommended the hotel for its food and I had to agree with her the food was probably some of the best we have eaten in an all inclusive. A fabulous array of vegetarian dishes and beautifully presented, freshly made salads. Lunch was our favourite along with the Asian restaurant and the Mexican. Weather was wonderful Just get to the sun loungers early as the best do get bagged Loved the music in the main building on Tuesday night and the shows were a nice touch (especially the acrobatics) There are lifts in case you find it difficult in walking, I loved the gardens and the fabulous views walking up to the main building, I didn’t find the walk a problem at all even though I’m a bit older than most Great spot to venture across the gorge to more bars and restaurants and a lovely walk along the seafront , but we found the food far superior in the hotel.

Just returned home from another amazing Holiday. Hotel never disappoints, food as good as ever. Did all the A La Cartes, our favourite being the Italian, pork cheeks were delicious! But all the A La Cartes were very nice as usual. Rooms cleaned every day, clean sheets and towels. Staff work continuously hard to look after their guests. Only thing I missed is the mini bar which we used to get pre covid, it would be nice to have it back! Highly recommend this Hotel, and the sister Hotel across the road, we prefer Tenerife side as it’s not as busy! But it’s not a problem, we just bought some and put them in the fridge. Book it you won’t be disappointed.

It's the perfect place to soak up some winter sun but it's not a hotel where you'd go out and explore due to the terrain. If you want to go out then we suggest taking a taxi to the resort of Costa Adeje Town centre. However this hotel is not one for those with any limited mobility. It's build on top of a cliff and into a steep hillside. The hotel is split into 7 blocks and wherever your room is you're either going up and down many many steps. You seem to go along long corridors and then up a lift or down. Also if you walk through the winding garden path it's a steep climb and once you arrive at the main terrace area you have a further 2 flights of marble stairs to reach reception but there is a lift to reception. Pool area is excellent with many pools, plenty of sunbeds and umbrella's along with quality pool towels. The entertainment team are terrific and from 11am to 3pm there are many activities for both adults and kids such as aqua gym, pilates, yoga, aqua spinning and aqua pole fitness. Once a week they have a foam party which is quite amazing, the kids love it. Casa Bonita is a lunchtime buffet restaurant near the pool and acts as a steak restaurant some evenings. For something a little lighter to eat, there is a pool snack bar where you help yourself to drinks but pizzas, salads, burgers and toasties are all very good. The main restaurant has a vast range of food, all of it at a high standard. Waiting staff serve wines and water but at busy times it can be like a scrum! You can't believe how rude some guests are who just barge in! Although there's a smaller restaurant below this one, we recommend the main restaurant for breakfast as there's a vast range to choose from. In the evening on the main terrace / lounge area you help yourself to drinks at the bar, but you can ask the barmen to serve your drinks. You help yourself to teas and coffees. We also ate in the Italian and Asian restaurants, both excellent but the Asian one is at the sister hotel which again is a steep climb to get there. Bottled wine and beers are very drinkable. Bedrooms vary but generally a good standard but this hotel is 20 years old and is in need of a refurbishment. We liked that all the linen, towels etc had the hotel logo on them. Comfortable beds and plenty of wardrobe space. What was missing was any tea / coffee offering in your room. Plenty of shampoo and shower gel but pretty poor quality. Aircon good. The whole complex is spotless but we were concerned with large amount of broken tiles around the pool and when wet were slippery. However for the price this is a good quality hotel where you'll be well looked after.

Had a lovely holiday, food, service and lovely employees made the holiday really nice. The hotel is a bit tired however the entertainment team were second to none. I don’t usually highlight individuals but on this occasion I would like to say a big thank you to Sarah, Paula and Erica. Those girls were great.

Hotel was spotlessly clean throughout, and you have great views of the sea from most areas of the hotel. Our junior suite was very spacious, and there was always a large bottle of cold water left in our mini fridge. The air con didn't do very much, but this wasn't an issue due to the time of year. Entertainment we went to included dance shows, aqua spin classes, karaoke, paddle board yoga, archery, to name a few. Live music each evening by the bar was always very good. In terms of food, main courses were good, desserts weren't great; quite bland, very repetitive and mostly just variations of different flavours a bland layered cake, dairy free cream and jelly. Complete lack of anything chocolate. Each night, dinner is themed at the teide restaurant; best by a mile was the canarian night, and the fresh tuna served at lunch that day. Big criticism was that while allergens were well labelled, there was no info on what was vegetarian or not. The extremely poor English translation of some dishes (highlights being 'green Jewish graves' and 'iron floor') meant that also you couldn't deduce this from the name. On top of this, it wasn't clear what type of meat was used in some dishes. An example of all this included a dish named 'pasta with tomato sauce', but having small bits of bacon in it, which weren't immediately visible. Additionally every meal there would be multiple dishes with no labelling, and as a pescetarian I steered clear of them after one time I ate a courgette which was stuffed with meat by accident. Lastly, a pet peeve, but there weren't separate tongs for certain areas that contained both meat and vegetarian food. Otherwise good variety of dishes, including healthy options. Drinks were great, generous pouring of spirits, and wide selection of drinks available. Staff really friendly and accommodating, especially when you would decide to create your own cocktail off menu! We were all inclusive, and didn't feel like we missed out on anything by not getting all inclusive plus. Great also to be able to use other hotel's facilities, including gym, and bars. Overall, amazing stay, but was a bit let down by the food issues.

I love the place, location, views, friendly staff and especially the day time entertainment crew - they are absolutely amazing! However, our holiday did not go as smoothly as planned. Two horrible words: BED BUGS! We got some bites already at the beginning of our stay, but thought that they were mosquito bites, as the hotel is clean and there were no reviews anywhere that mentioned bed bugs. But by the end of our stay the bites just exploded and I ended up finding living bugs in our bed. I told this in the reception, but they did not even apologize and seemed not to care. We did not get any help or refund even though we were badly bitten and have to wash and freeze all our luggage - which causes a lot of extra work, stress and also costs with current electricity prices. This was our second time in Bahia Principe Tenerife, and the first one was so exceptionally good that we truly wanted to return. But the overall experience was not as good this time, cleanliness not perfect (the floors in our room were not sweeped even once during our stay), tiles are loose in places, and overall premises start to show some wear. And the worst thing was of course the bed bugs. The food was ok, always found something to eat in the buffets. The Asian restaurant was wonderful, Mexican was good but the Brazilian was below average. My steak was scorched on the surface, and the quality of the meat was not what I expected. It was hard to cut and I had to spit out pieces as I was not able to chew them. So, I’m not sure if I want to go back anymore. The bugs and the reaction at the reception when I informed about them left me feeling sad and stressed. I hope that they reacted and started to clean and poison the bugs, and NOT just ignore it and give the room to someone else right away!

A lot to like about this hotel but a few niggles as well. The staff are very attentive and welcoming, particularly in the dining room. The rooms are kept very clean. The hotel and rooms are a little dated however we felt it added to the overall charm, The dining experience was relaxed and the food was excellent. We booked the italian, asian and mexican nights held in alternative restaurants on site except for the italian, based in the sister hotel next door. We were disappointed with the italian although the others were very good. The hotel has a welcoming feel and we found many people we spoke to returned there. The main lobby bar below reception was a lovely place to relax after dinner, it is linked to an outdoor terrace where good quality artists perform every night. In fact we stayed in this area every night, as did many others, and didn't bother with the main entertainment/shows based in the sister hotel. Attention to detail was a big plus point. A really convenient feature was a chip in the wristband to access room entry, so no need to search for the room card. A few niggles, our room was located on the ground floor adjacent to an entry/exit and close to the lift, it was too noisy at times even after midnight and early in the morning with the cleaners setting up nearby. The other issue was the sunbeds. There is a large pool surrounded by rows of regimented sunbeds with a smaller sunbed terrace to one side, near reception. At 8am there was a rush to secure a prime spot. We wanted to be away from the pool so tried to access beds in the quieter area, however this was a real hot spot! There is obviously nothing that can be done about the outside area design layout but a rethink of the towel situation might benefit (9am towel time). Overall a relaxing, enjoyable week. Nice hotel, lovely staff throughout and everywhere super clean.

Dear Kay, Thank you for your visit to Bahia Principe Sunlight Tenerife hotel and for sharing your marvellous experience. We really appreciate also your comments regarding your stay with us and we are proud you mention as strengths our facilities, the food offer and particularly the entertainment. We feel sorry if the allocation of your room has not met your expectations. The hotel cannot guarantee any specific allocation as it always depends on the room category reserved and the availability. Besides, we always take into account our guests’ requests or preferences, although we cannot guarantee them. We apologize for the inconvenience with the sunbeds. However, we can confirm our future guests that we have enough sunbeds for everybody and the staff always try to avoid the very early bookings of sunbeds. So arrived late (no problem) got to the room to unpack, found our “suite” room was just a room with a double bed and sofa bed. one drawer broken, mini fridge was just stocked with water and if we wanted more we had to go to reception. Not very all inclusive to me. Ok 3rd night in my eldest son (17) got very sick for 2 nights straight, thought nothing of it, 5th night my youngest son got sickness and diarrhoea, ok must be something now, 6th night my other half got sickness and diarrhoea and then myself got sick on that same night so it must of been the food we’ve eaten in the buffet cus that’s where we ate! So overall it ruined our holiday with us getting sick! Probably would not come back to this hotel cause of that. The sister hotel down the road looked nicer and we went there a few times to have a drink and wonder around. The staff didn’t really care that we were Sick either, in fact most of them were quite rude, especially the ladies in the shop where u get the towels!

Hotel I am a disabled guest and thought I’d do a review for future guests wanting to stay at the Bahia Principe Tenerife (Note when I refer to the other hotel, it is the Bahia Principe Sunlight Costa Adeje) Booking - I booked my accommodation directly with the hotel, signed up to the loyalty programme which gave me a discount, and then I could check in online with the app & access room allocation I emailed the hotel directly to request a disabled access room & they was glad to assist Transfers - The special assistance will take you directly to the transfer coaches, the transfer takes around 30 mins and be aware that there is two hotels, a few minutes walk from each other so double check you are staying at the correct one as the hill is steep I wouldn’t recommend a wheelchair user use a shared transfer, it’s very narrow & steep stairs Accommodation - I stayed in the bungalows at the back, block 16, number 9 It was easily accessible. Really comfortable beds, very clean, daily water restocked, big bathroom with walk in shower (note they didn’t have a fold down chair in the bathroom, like a wet room) Enough space in the room to drive my wheelchair into to charge & a table & chairs to sit at too Getting around - The bungalow was easy to get to but only once I had worked it out, the reception gave me a key fob (deposit €10) to go up and down the service ramp but my scooter did not do well on the hill So, I came out of the reception towards the pool but turned immediate left and through to the lift, upto level 4 , along to the tennis courts and to the bungalows There is a lift in the main reception which then makes access to the restaurant and bar easy. The paths that lead from both hotels are broken & does not have a dropped curb, so you have go on the road. Once you in are in the other hotel it’s accessible, however it goes down in levels with steps and no ramps. You can go from the top to the bottom where the infinity pool is but there isn’t any way of accessing any of the in between areas & it’s a huge incline/decline so you need a very powerful wheelchair or person to push a manual one Restaurants - The pool bar is easily accessible, they have hot & cold food available Ice creams were chargeable The buffet restaurant is great, they have themed nights, the food could be hotter but it’s all fresh & plenty to choose from & all flat ground so accessible The pool bar in the other hotel had a snack bar you can use but you have no access to their buffet restaurant A La Carte I stayed for three nights so could only book one restaurant, we chose the steak, this was in the other hotel, it’s not easy to get a wheelchair down there at all, dark, bumpy roads, you can however get the shuttle buggy to take you down there if you can be without your chair whilst eating, sadly there are no disabled toilets. The toilets are out of the building and down a lot of stairs The menu is given to you in the form of a QR app, it is a self serve for the starter & dessert but they take your order for your main, again, only beer and wine, but they were polite, the food was really nice, I had the steak & it was ok, not top steak but still edible Entertainment - On the terrace of both hotels they have live music every night, some good singers, in the square (the village) they had some acrobats also two bars, one sports bar & a karaoke bar but there are not included in the AI I barely saw the entertainers, but maybe that was just bad timing Drinks - All bars have different options, mostly free pour for the Beer, Wine, Prosecco, Sangria, Hot & Soft Drinks - Spirits after 6 if not ask for at the bar where you can get cocktails too I will add these were all very high up, so if you’re in a wheelchair you may need someone with you to get your drinks The waiters were great & couldn’t do enough for you The bar shuts at 11pm sometimes 11.30pm Overall I would say that the hotel needs a revamp, but it was clean, well presented, plenty of good food & drink, fantastic views, the staff were all great, it was full of cleaners, tree surgeons, painters, it was all very well looked after I think as a disabled guest, they should have a more informative guide to getting around the hotel, and the paths & roads leading to the other hotel need to be fixed, more lighting, and signs And ensuring disabled toilets are in most areas Hope this helps!
