Bahia Principe Sunlight Tenerife receives acclaim for its attentive and professional staff, though some guests have encountered inconsistencies in service. The hotel boasts a range of praised amenities and entertainment that contribute to its spirited atmosphere, yet the rooms, despite being spacious, often draw criticism for their dated appearance. Cleanliness is a standout feature with meticulous upkeep throughout. While some guests appreciate the tranquil setting, others find the isolation a drawback, necessitating transportation for external activities. Opinions on value are divided, with mentions of both affordability and unexpected costs.

We have returned from a stay at the Bahia Principe Sunlight Tenerife and had a fantastic time. The All Inclusive options for food and entertainment both varied and enjoyed by both kids and adults. We stayed in a junior suite sea side view and the view over the sea was great to wake up to. A bit of a trek up two lots of four flights of stairs, lift available for both sets however it was good to walk off the buffet! Room very clean and restocked with water in the mini fridge every day.

Food was great and varied, all staff we encountered were friendly - especially Antonia and Nancy the smiles and greetings were really appreciated. There was a chap from outside too who was great but didn't get his name - very accommodating even so when working under very busy conditions all day. There is something for every palette food wise, breakfasts huge piles of pancakes, fruits cereals and cooked breakfast and churros! We loved the mojo and Canarian potatoes. If you moan about the food options here you are a fussy eater. Varied choice with theme nights and you get the option of booking on to the a la carte, we did the Grill and the Mexican. The only problem were the only time slots left - 18:30 which was a bit early for us as the days were very busy. We really enjoyed the Grill, fantastic staff and food with a lovely touch of being able to see the food being cooked. Great ambience too and we had the gorgeous sunset. The Mexican we didn't rate as highly, still okay but the buffet Mexican night was just as good and you weren't restricted to time slots. Again all staff efficient and very friendly which makes a difference to the experience!

We stayed over Halloween and the effort put into this was great. From the kids entertainment dress up and pumpkin carving, making treat boxes and trick or treating around the hotels - to the decoration of the restaurant greeted with a cocktail and the dessert options, so much effort was put in. Also being serenaded by a mariachi band was a lovely touch. Fantastic way to celebrate.

The pool bar was great staff really good, again very busy but always a friendly smile. Especially Edgar who was very personal and always had a cheeky grin - also gives a hearty dash of Ron Miel.

The cleanliness of the hotel is due to the hard working staff. Every day up early cleaning floors and polishing. All facilities cleaned to a very high standard and we were always welcomed with friendly smiles and greetings whilst they were doing so. A credit to the hotel. Only comment would be some of the pool tiles could do with replacing and some TLC around the edges - a bit of a spruce up. The hotel needs more sunbeds, as already mentioned each taken every morning and a mad dash to do so. We were out a few days and on returning later managed to get the odd one but otherwise you didn't have a chance. There is the option of other hotel which also got full too.

Our welcome on Reception by Francis was fantastic, cheeky chappy made the experience very smooth! All reception staff amazing bar one. Ricardo has zero customer relation skills. Had no interest in helping, answer was he didn't know and gave the impression of us asking a question being an inconvenience. This ended with us missing out on things in the hotel, we used the one across the way. Certain things such as locations in the hotel he should know, he was rude and dismissive and not at all in keeping with our experience of other staff members who went above and beyond. This needs rectifying as if this had been our first impressions it would have a big impact. We nearly marked 4 stars for this alone but one bad egg is a shame to all the rest of the hard working effort of staff.

Shop great, we thought the prices were reasonable for the convenience. Both hotels facilities were good. We enjoyed the minigolf - some tricky holes. You can get ping pong bats from reception, with deposit. We bought one from the hotel shop. Lovely walk to Playa Paraiso down through the sister hotel. Car hire very good and easily done through the sister hotels, we pre booked with them online in advance turned up and no issues.

Entertainment team all of them work tirelessly and this is shown in the joy the kids get from it. Kidsclub Erica, Pablo and I think Anaya were all amazing and put so much effort into ensuring the kids have fun. Much appreciated, our daughter was sad to leave them - particularly with the Halloween events. Great team working around the pool and had archery waterpolo aqua zumba, so much on offer. Inflatables in the pool was fantastic.

We did Loro Parque, Siam Park and Mount Teide, would definitely recommend. Great days out with some fantastic views and experiences.

Lastly, the app had lots of info about the hotel and we found it useful. Loved the key card in the bracelet- such a good idea instead of faffing with key cards. We could only recommend, all had a fantastic time and only a few niggles which can't dampen such a great experience. Thank you Bahia Principe! (Plus theme tune sticks in your head).

First time staying, followed their Facebook page so basically knew everything about the hotels, we never emailed them in advance asking for a room but we got a lovely very spacious ground floor room away from the pool so very quite, but we could stillsee the pool and had a sea view 14105. The maids could not do enough had to ask for more coat hangers and pillows was there within the hour. We did book our meals on the screen in reception very straight forward. Hotel was not that busy the first few days so no issue with sun beds but when more families arrived they taped off the pool till 8 o’clock by 10 all beds by the pool were gone. We did use the sister hotel infinity pool which was a lot quieter. Food was plentiful in both restaurants and snack bars, got very same same after a few days so would recommend booking the other restaurants to break it up, loved the cocktails and self service on the drinks this way you can have it as strong as you like. We did take large plastic beakers with us so we weren’t going to the bar every 5 mins, the staff had no problems with us using them . You can not fault the staff From cleaning to reception they are great, we watched a couple off shows in the square good family fun the entertainment staff work their butts off . Well done to you all . The hotel runs a free buss into Las Americas which I recommend. We also got a taxi €12 each way to Costa Adeje where we found a market that sell all your fakes. If you want a restful holiday where you are looked after I would recommend this hotel . And yes I would book again but maybe not when the kids are off.

I was really looking forward to my stay at this hotel as had heard good reports about it.

It wasn't at the standard of many other 4* hotels I have stayed at,

The rooms were not cleaned to a high standard. The cupboards were grubby and dated and the bathroom seemed to be cleaning with eco friendly detergents that didn't leave them clean. The hotel sent me a text asking for feedback during the stay, when I commented on the cleaning the next day my toothpast was left upside down in the glass & all ran out.

There were not enough sunbeds for all guests. Many people left towels on sunbeds and during the day there were loads of reserved sunbeds that were not in used. This meant that other guests could not use them.

There was very loud music & shouting from the entertainers at the pool - not at all relaxing - and even though we sat as far away from this as possible, it was still too noisy.

The bar area was full of rowdy English yob types who hung about there all day & let their children run wild.

The hotel advertised al la carte restaurants, but we tried to book these on our 1st day & they were all booked up for the entire week!

There was no access to a beach & no beach nearby

There were campers camping nearby on the rocks

Not recommended for a relaxing holiday

Just returned from this hotel, very enjoyable stay. Fantastic weather. Hotel staff are very friendly and helpful, room kept clean and replenished with drinks and toiletries. As others write the grounds and hotel are well kept and spotless, plenty of food available but it is lukewarm every night. So is the tea and coffee. alcohol and soft drinks in plenty and no queues at bar in either hotels, singers and evening entertainment good. Loved the infinity pool at Adeje hotel. the al a carte good but again food lukewarm. No kettle but we took our own and got small milk from the bar. Lovely views from our room 15411. Bathroom dated and shower curtain old fashioned, bath towels quite small and pool towels in need of replacing as quite worn. Couldn’t get on the courtesy bus as fully booked , could of booked several days in advance if we were very keen to go. We Used the local bus at top of road which ran frequently.
If the quality of the food standards were better, towels improved, bathrobes and kettle provided it could be given a higher star rating.

This was a return visit to Bahia Tenerife. The hotel is fantastic kept impeccably clean considering it’s size. Check in was efficient and informative. Bags were taken to room which was amazing as we had upgraded to a junior suite. Room very spacious and mini bar restocked every day which is a very nice touch. Cleaners kept room clean on a daily basis. The restaurant staff are very pleasant and the food is plentiful- I am a fussy eater but even I could find something to eat every night at the buffet restaurant. Being able to avail of the A La Carte restaurants during our stay was lovely, the Asian and Italian are definitely worth a visit. The pool area is great, plenty of sun beds and the pool bar staff are great, good selection of non alcoholic and alcoholic beverages.

Our only issue was that on one occasion at the start of holiday I returned to our room to find bedroom door lying open. Thankfully we had used the safe for any valuables! I reported this to guest services who got a print out of electronic room access and said we had been last to enter therefore we had left door open. This was not the case and on further inspection their entire time system was 90 mins out of sync, (couldn’t tell us who had been in room). We then spoke to management who said they would look into it and come back to us, she never did. I appreciate human error but for something so serious for our security I don’t think they took it seriously. We felt we had to keep checking room door frequently to make sure it was closed which took away from our remaining holiday. Please be careful and make sure you use a safe.

Wow lack of entertainment really let's this hotel down, nothing to do whatsoever between meal times and evening entertainment which doesn't start till 10pm and then the bar closes amd you have to walk through the hotel to go the bar not easy with all the stairs (there are alot of stairs). Rooms are supposed to be cleaned everyday yet when we arrived there was dead bugs on the floor and it remained there all week do floors dont get cleaned, there was also glass on the floor and under furniture that never got brushed up so couldn't walk in the room in barefoot. Food mediocre very basic, al a carte was nice but starter amd desert was buffet based. Drinks are cheap local alcohol and everything tastes the same. Be prepared for a lot of walking between the hotels as it is all up hill not wheelchair friendly or pram. Nothing outside the hotel but derelict building sites, definitely go to Las Americas for beach and change of scenery as there is no beach neat hotel.

A very relaxing place with an abundance of drink and food on tap. Great that you can use the facilities at the Bahía Principe Costa Adje hotel next door although they don’t like you to use the buffet restaurant. Really hard to find anything to complain about.
Did upgrade to a higher floor, room 15501which had spectacular views of the coast line. The room we were allocated was quite dark and on the ground floor.
Entertainment at night was a little bit average and the indoor theatre in the Bahía Principe Costa Adje had a poor sound system and dodgy lighting. Television channels were not great but just about adequate. As you can see I am picking at straws.

I feel bad leaving three stars as my experience was worth at least 4 stars, however, my wife had a worse experience.

When we arrived the hotel was quiet and the service in the restaurant was exceptional. As the hotel filled up towards the end of the week we noticed that plates were not collected and we had to ask several times for more water/coffee. I imagine the hotel had not been that busy for a while but it was a same to see the service go downhill in that way.

The toilets in the public areas were very similar to the restaurant experience, they went from perfectly clean every time to having wet floors with tissue all over them as the week progressed.

We had two vegetarians in our trip and on the first day the buffet food was amazing with several veggie options supplemented by several salads with chickpeas etc. But then for some reason every other day the salads had bits of ham or fish added to them (not labelled), I suspect it was to use up the food but it meant that none of the salads were veggie.

We found that things that sounded vegetarian were in fact not - Spinach Lasagne which contained fish. Really bad as we had to worry about a seafood allergy. This hotel REALLY needs to label the buffet for allergies and keep the vegie meals away from the meat as people often use the same spoon in both.

We did not visit too many of the a la carte restaurants as the veggie options there were very limited but the food in the Mexican was very nice. Two of our party went to the Portuguese place and were served undercooked chicken on a skewer.

We have used this chain before in Mexico and have EXACTLY the same comments about the food. I will use them again but a few really small changes could make so much difference to people who have restricted diets either due to allergies or preference.

We visited recetion to ask for more pillows and an iron to be brought to the room, these never arrived and we had to call and ask again.

For non veggies, the buffet was really good, a wide choice and tasted good. The bar was good and the cocktails fantastic. There is an Indian restaurant on site that i recomend visting although it is not part of the all inclusive.

I travelled with my husband, mam and our two children aged 5 and 8. When we first arrived we were dropped off at the bottom hotel, thr reception staff were so friendly and helpful they told us our bags would be delivered to our rooms but in the meantime a driver would take us up to our hotel. Its literally a five minute walk but the kids loved the little buggie. When we arrived in our rooms we found them very clean and spacious, yes a little bit dated but perfect for what we needed. There is a shower and bath in each room along with a mini fridge which always had a new bottle of water in. The main bed was a little bit hard but not too bad, there was myself my husband and 5 year old in the bed and we managed perfectly well. The view from our balcony was stunning looking over the pool area but with a great view of the sea too.

The first day we wondered down the the pools at the bottom hotel which were fabulous! The infinity pool area looks beautiful. We had a drinking the pool bar then walked back up to our hotel. There was no sun loungers left but we thought maybe because we'd been out on the morning they'd just all gone. We were wrong. With two small children we needed to be close to the pool incase of emergencies and the only way that was possible was by putting towels on the loungers at 8am, there's was such a mad dash for everyone to claim one however many people took them and never used them all day.

We recently went on a holiday in menorca and we all got poorly from the food, so understandably we were a little nervous when it came to eating. There's was no need to worry, the food is lovely with an amazing choice for everyone. We never used the extra restaurants as they were a little bit too late for the kids but we couldn't fault the buffet restaurant.

The entertainment crew were fantastic, always music playing round the pool and always coming to speak to you. The main thing I was disappointed in was the professional photographer, the staff were lovely and looked like they enjoyed what they did but the cost of the actual photographs were extremely high.

If you get the chance go and see the Queen tribute!! We had an absolutely fantastic night.

All in all a fantastic holiday and fantastic hotel....we will be back
