It was over 20 years since I last visited Tenerife and was keen to stay somewhere outside of Playa de las Americas. If you’ve stayed at - and enjoyed - other HRH’s then you will be familiar with the set up - contemporary rooms, good vibes and music memorabilia dotted around the premises. It was reasonably busy but there was never a problem finding beds by one of the several pools. If you’re not tied to school holidays then I would advise you avoid the peak times. Staff were friendly and food in the main buffet style restaurant was of a good standard (although I’d recommend you try other restaurants to mix things up). The roof top bar is great to visit one night for a few drinks. If you’re not all inclusive then there’s a great supermarket just across the road for snacks and drinks. The rooms were clear and comfortable but the only oddity was that if I left a small amount of tea or coffee in a cup by the bed, I would return hours later to find the dirty cup still there with a coaster placed on top! If looking to venture down to Playa de las Americas it is within easy reach by taxi or bus.

This was booked as a Special Birthday celebration taking in the Children of the 80’s and we had upgraded to a gold suite. When we arrived at the hotel on the Friday all was good and enjoyed our first day ready for the big birthday celebrations next day. We were notified that the 80’s party was cancelled due to Covid which was disappointing but understandable. Next day we got a knock at the door with Fizz and cake to celebrate the birthday and then another knock at the door with a letter stating that Spain had announced state of emergency and into lockdown. This was extremely difficult circumstances for guests and staff and handled fantastically well. We were booked A/I and looking forward to visiting spa all the restaurant etc. But it was not to be. The staff were closing up the hotel whilst we tried to get early flight home. Staff continued to look after us and we were confined to our room except for meals. I really want to return to this hotel and fully experience what it has to offer and we missed. Really appreciate how well we were looked after despite not getting the birthday celebrations we had expected.

We loved it as a family, there was something for everyone. We were there for 2 weeks.... Our room was fabulous and we had great views. The breakfasts were incredibly good, and I did have a glass of cava each morning!!! We really enjoyed the lagoon pool area, and loved the music all day. Kids had a great time at the kids club. Can't wait to return, our best family holiday ever!
