Some travelers feel that Bahia Principe Sunlight Costa Adeje doesn't quite hit the mark on value, with additional charges for certain amenities and dining options. Although its secluded location offers stunning views and sunsets, guests have called out its lack of nearby conveniences. Rooms are clean but could benefit from an update, according to reviewers.
Guests praise the hotel's amenities, particularly the pools and entertainment, which contribute to the lively atmosphere, albeit with some dated decor. Cleanliness across the hotel is a strong point, yet noise can be an issue for some. Staff service generally receives positive comments, but there's room for more consistency.

Detailed Reviews
The food was great in taste and there were always several options to choose from.
There were 3 swimming pools which were all huge in size and the water was crystal clear but the sunbeds were always occupied in the first hours of the morning making it difficult for a family to relax together.
The internet was mediocre depending on the room location making the farest rooms like a wifi free zone with barely any connectivity.
The rooms were spotless and the bed sheets were changed daily and free towels for the pools also daily!
The staff were very polite, friendly and happy to help you.
We are definitely coming back some time next year.

My wife and I returned for our Sixth all inclusive visit 9-16/12/19 (Room 1613) with a sea view of the Atlantic Ocean and Le Gomera.
A new addition on arrival at reception was your wrist bracelet which this time included a chip which doubled up as your room key, no more worrying about losing your key/returning to reception.
We keep coming back to this Hotel as it repeatedly offers value for money, quality of food and choice to dine in different themed restaurants such as Italian, Asian, Mexican and Brazilian. Not that we did, but you can eat and have refreshments 24/7 in this Hotel as a Snack Bar opens between evening dinner ending and breakfast starting the following morning. In your room you have use of a free mini bar which is stocked up regularly.
The Hotel is clean and the staff are very helpful, courteous and above all hardworking as a Team, who provide a 5 Star service that has us returning year on year.
There is a full programme of daytime/evening activities with an indoor gym. There is also a climatised pool and FREE WIFI is provided to all areas of the Hotel including your room.
I must also mention Berta, Guest Relations Manager, it was our 30th Wedding Anniversary in 2019 and on arrival in our room we were greeted by a bottle of Prosecco, glasses and chocolates. Very nice touch and thanks!

Stayed there for a week with my wife and 6 month old son. We were in a junior suite and the room was lovely, spacious and kept very clean and tidy by the excellent maids. The tv could have been a bit bigger since it was pretty far from the bed but there wasn't much on it to watch anyway, hardly any channels in english except news. The beds were very hard so we complained and they put mattress toppers on them right away which helped alot. Sadly the wifi in the room was pretty much unusable, even though we had the so called premium it was very slow and dropped out regularly. Getting water, beer and soda in the room every day was very nice and a special thanks to the man who delivered the water to us the first day as he pointed out that it was not suitable for our baby boy since it had high salt content, we found water that was better for him in the little corner shop in the square.
The food was very nice and the mexican and brazilian restaurants were a nice change to the buffet. Eating outside put you at risk of being next to smokers as there didn't seem to be a smokers area, same thing around the pools.
We tried going to the mini disco to let our son watch but the music was way too loud, surprised other parents let their kids stay in there, could have been bad for their hearing.
The staff was very friendly and helpful and overall we really enjoyed relaxing in the sun for the week and hope to return next year.

We have visited this hotel for many years. In excess of 8 times In our view the standards and quality have dropped. Very sad as this hotel had a lot to offer.
Food: main restaurant food look warm and of poor quality. Microwave needed for our meals. Such a pity.
Hygiene: flies crawling over all the food in restaurants in the buffet section, disgusting. Cockroaches on balcony and around hotel. Never had this before.
Other restaurants included in the resort in our experience were of poor quality. The hotel description is high standards of gastronomy. Not in our view as regular customers. Not now!
Drinks : this hotel previously offered bottled water. Now only water machines are available. Plastic washable tumblers are available at the pool. We observed these used as ash trays at the pool. Disgusting. They expect you to drink out of these.
Pool: no reserving sunbeds which is fine. However this is not adhered to. Pool aides allow Some guests to reserve beds. In 10 days were stayed, a spanish family reserved beds 8 in total every morning from 7am below our room.
We stayed in block 5. Somewhat lively with drunk guests arguing in the corridors and adjacent rooms. Security attended once only.
Pool area : the adult only section and jacuzzi is not adult only. Pool aides do not enforce this.
In the past staff were visible. During our stay there was parasols launched into the pool, drunken guests day and night.
This hotel is not low cost. Will never return.

Dear Guest, We regret your holidays in Bahia Principe Sunlight Costa Adeje hotel weren´t up to your expectations. The cockroaches and flies are, unfortunately, rather common on the island due to the mild climate and therefore we have a very strict fumigation policy against insects which allows us to meet high standards of quality and hygiene. We need to point out that the presence of these insects in the hotel has no relation to the lack of cleaning which is confirmed by regular audits. We regret that the food and drinks were not to your entire satisfaction. We are happy to have customers of very diverse ages and nationalities and we try to adapt our food offer to different tastes. Bahia Principe is recognized for having good sustainability practices. That is why we use recyclable cups at our service points. We believe with dedication we will continue adding efforts, since it is a central axis of our work. Undoubtedly, obtaining good results now and for the future generations will make our tourist destinations stronger and more competitive. We sincerely hope to have another opportunity to welcome you again at Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts. Kind regards, Online Reputation Bahia Principe Sunlight Costa Adeje

The hotel is built into the side of a cliff so there are numerous levels. There is no one lift that you can get that can get you near the reception or lobby bar. If you have a mobility concern I would not advise coming here, similar for parents with babies in buggies it must be a nightmare. The lift in my block bizarrely has a notice on saying reserved for the staff between 0800 and 1600. You are given a bracelet to access the hotel facilities. It also opens the room door but unless you have a double jointed wrist it is very difficult to use. No one told me at reception that the card you use to control the room electric will also open the door! The hotel charges €7 per day to park, if you don't want to pay this you have to hike about half a mile up a hill to park above the sister hotel. If you want to eat in the a la carte restaurants I would say book them as soon as you arrive as they get booked up solidly.

So where to start. Well let's start with the positives
1 grounds of hotel are really nice 5/5
2 food is good including Al a cartes 4/5
3 drinks are ok no named brands unless you pay extra 4/5
4 rooms are ok, good air con, good view 3/5
& that is it
Negatives
1 Bar staff rude and not attentive 1/5
2 reception staff rude 1/5
3 waiters some are ok but most of them its just a job not any interest in what guest want 1/5
4 Entertainment what a waste of time stuff for kids and teenagers nothing for Adults apart from aquagym and waterpolo ever day of the week. When I asked if they did anything else like ping pong there response was just a simple NO Evening entertainment nearly as bad as the daytime. Just poor singers in the main hotel area and in the village they had acrobat show on twice a week a singer once and an animation show all shows start at 10pm but the bar in the village closes at 10pm apart from beer and soft drink so of you want anything else you have to walk back to the main bar which means you end up missing half of the show! Entertainment -1/5
There is an Indian restaurant but its Closed
There is a sports bar but its Closed
There is a Brazilian restaurant but its not available
There is a free shuttle bus But its not available
All apparently due to covid it seems to me that the hotel likes to use covid as an excuse as and when it suits them.
You can't get a drink from the pool bar unless you have a face mask but you can get in the pool with everyone else you can use the beer pumps that everyone else has touched you can use the utensils In the restaurant with out gloves you can lay on sunbeds that haven't been sanitised but you can't get a drink because you don't have a face mask!!! Joke.
When I asked if we could keep our room on until 6pm on our last day I was informed that it would cost 60€ yes thats right 60€ so when I asked if they had a courtesy room guess what!! No due to covid No courtesy rooms. So when I asked where we could get showered the very kind receptionist said go round the pool. Yes thats correct round the pool what a joke. This is just a few reasons I won't ever be returning not even for free.
Oh I forgot to mention the Hotel is in the middle of nowhere it cost 20€ in a taxi to Los Cristianos or 3€ on the bus which takes 1 hour.

Dear Russell, We regret your holidays weren't up to your expectations. We took note of your comments about our rude staff which is surprising as the friendliness and prefessionalism of our staff is one of the strong points throughout the different reviews about our hotel. All the team always works tirelessly to provide comfort to our guests and we sincerely regret that you have returned with a different impression. Regarding the services offered by the hotel, we inform you that due to the situation created by COVID-19, some of the services may be affected. All the measures adopted are aimed at guaranteeing maximum safety in accordance with the WHO guidelines. We reinforced our hygiene and health protocols, in accordance with the norm. The department on charge constantly sanitizes the self service machines to guarantee all our guests safety. For the successful fulfillment of the recommended measures, we also have to appeal to the individual responsibility of all our clients at this difficult time. We also woul like to point out that the Indian restaurant and the Sports bar are private business which are independents from the hotel. The hotel offers a late check-out option with a supplement. We would like to remind our future guests that the hotel is located in the quiet residential area of Playa Paraiso. There are very nice walks around the hotel and it is well communicated by bus. In addition, our location is provided on our official website. We sincerely apologize for the impressions caused and hope you will give us another opportunity to provide you with new unforgettable memories. Kind regards, Bahia Principe Sunlight Costa Adeje

That says it all....forget the poor reviews the hotel, food and amenities were excellent.
I always read the poor reviews whilst I’m out at the resort and quite honestly it is baffling what some people complain about. Yes, we can all have varying experiences but one thing the hotel isn’t is dirty. The staff from morning to night are continually cleaning the communal areas and I can only speak from my room which was spotless and linen/towels changed daily!
As for the food we both thought the abundance and variety ,was more than adequate. Service was excellent with staff attending to you constantly.
We were on the 8th floor, which was great [apart from the superb view]it also gave us the opportunity to walk up and down the stairs all week and give us some much needed exercise to combat all the calories.
Comments were made about the all inclusive drinks.....yes there were some that were counted as extras but the cocktails were not slush as stated by one reviewer. Gin, brandy, whisky and the rest were all plentiful.
If people had bothered to walk along the coastline to the north then they would have realised it was not “isolated” and if they really wanted that type of holiday then they should have done more homework on the place. Two areas of hotel with a 3 or 4 min walk down to the other infinity pool. Entertainment at both sites.

We visited this hotel for the first time at February half- term on a Jet 2 package. Our last day coincided with the sand storm.
We thought this was a beautiful hotel. The lobby area is stunning with a huge sweeping marble staircase and the rooms lead out downhill towards the beautiful infinity pool at the bottom of the resort.
The grounds on the way are stunning with wonderful established palms and cats. The oaths and steps could be an issue for those with mobility issues.
The rooms are spacious and it was great to have a fridge stocked daily with water, beer and soft drinks.i found the bed unsupportive and hard but that is personal taste. The bathroom is a little dated but perfectly adequate.
We were most impressed with the hotel staff. Everyone from reception to restaurant and cleaners was friendly, efficient and industrious.
The restaurants were excellent and we loved the variety of food on offer. It was nice to be able to use a couple of the a la carte restaurants for breakfast and lunch too for a change of scenery as the main buffet restaurant can get very busy.
You are able to book 3 a la carte restaurant during a 1 week stay and we used the Italian, the Brazilian and the Asian restaurants. All were good but we particularly enjoyed the Brazilian. We bought a bottle of wine on a few occasions and this is worthwhile to make an evening a little more special and is only 12 Euros. Wine by the glass is fine but sometimes you have to wait a while for a top up.
There is a serve yourself bar under the main lobby which was great ea and not abused by the clientele. We enjoyed the evening entertainment outside this area as there was a live band every evening.
Finally, I have to mention the way the staff handled the sand storm. The hotel was devastated - tikes off the roof, trees down across the pathways, sun loungers in the pool, sand everywhere. They carried on as if nothing had happened and did an amazing job to cope with breakfast in the Sunday morning.
More than can be said for the airport and our airline, but that is another story....

Arrived at the Bahía principle to be met by a lovely lady on reception who checked us in promptly and gave us all the necessary information needed for throughout our stay. The rooms are basic and quiet dated but they are clean and have a comfy bed with soft bedding.
One down fall this hotel has is that it doesn’t have any hot drink facilities within the room and a small, not very cold fridge with minimal cold drink selection.
We enquired with reception about a kettle and we’re told we could rent one for €15 and an extra €10 deposit, we wanted to pay this on card but we told they only accept cash for this, once we received the kettle we noticed it was an English socket connected, luckily being from the Uk we have the correct adapter with us, the man we dealt with, was rude and abrupt towards us.
The hotels restaurants are pleasant, the buffet is basic and very same same, and it’s a shame that they haven’t opened a Traditional Spanish tapas type dining experience, after all we are in the Canary Islands.
The Asian is by far the best restaurant we ate in with the most flavours, and variety of selection. If you are one to want to dine slightly later on in the evening expect long cues awaiting to be seated, unless you book yourself into one of the speciality restaurants which can only be 3 out of the 7 nights if you are here for that length of time.
The overall hotel is clean, and the gardens are kept nice but just be warned if you are in the lower hotel it does have a few hills and a lot of stairs to reach reception and main dining areas. We will most certainly be back but more prepared with bringing our own kettle and facilities for our room!

Stayed here for 1 week and it is great place. Rooms are spacious and face towards the sea . They are clean and bright and include a balcony and my main criticism is the fact that the shower is not a seperate unit being amalgamated with the bath. The towels are also a little on the hard side but are adequate. The quality of food across breakfast, lunch and dinner is excellent with a wide variety of dishes in evidence. A small criticism is the fact that fresh orange juice was not available and the coffee was of mediocre standard. Staff provide very hospitable service and are always pleasant.Reception and housekeeping staff are great and the swimming pools are large and well planned with a heated one as well as an infinity pool available . Lifeguards are on duty to keep a watchful eye over the occupants. The variety theatre show is on 7 nights a week as is the musical entertainment, both being of a high standard. I would recommend this hotel although it is a bit out of the town so if you are looking for a lively spot it may not suit . The lack of a good beach nearby is also a drawback. The number of steps to negotiate is also a drawback if one is not able bodied but the grounds are very pleasant and immaculately maintained.
