I'm so glad hostel Tarifa didn't have space otherwise we would never have stayed at this delightful boutique hotel. We stayed on the roof which they call the attic. The room was so different with a see through glass shower and toilet area. The owner "Nadia"and her staff were absolutely fantastic, helpful, accommodating, generous (on arrival we got two cold... This quaint hotel is the perfect place to explore the town and wider area. Right in the centre of the old town it is steps from great restaurants and bars making it perfect for enjoying the best of Tarifa. The lack of breakfast, AC and good wifi may put some off but as a guesthouse it more than makes up... More

Our visit to tarifa was made all the more lovely because of our stay at this gem of a place! Vicky, the manager, was so sweet, helpful, and knowledgeable. She gave us great tips on everything we needed to know and see and the best places to eat and drink ! Thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would recommend for sure!!... More

Thank you for our amazing time at El Escondite. It was a discovery for us. If ever we come back to Tarifa, this house will be our home again. Originally we were supposed to stay in another house. But they were overbooked. El Escondite gave us our 'hiding place' in our long trip from Germany to Morocco by train. The... More

I have stayed here several times since my last review which was not a ringing endorsement. Why, owners come and go, some are better than others, now that the owner is back and has been for while Escondite is even better now. Gone is the breakfast, rooms are secure and clean. Staffed at night. Everything you would expect from a... More

The couple that owns this place are super-nice, friendly and helpful. They have renovated an ancient building in a very creative way. (The transparent bathroom gets a bit of getting used to!) Unfortunately, some of the fantastic, modern updates are showing some wear around the edges. Perhaps they should have forgone some of the fancier decor choices for more easily... More

We stayed here twice. Once on our way to morrocco and then after our trip. The owner Alehandra was very friendly and couldn't be more helpful. She is really a lovely person and cares about providing exceptional service. Tarifa is a great beach town and this hotel is close to everything. We will stay there again in the future.
