Hurricane Hotel

Certificate of Excellence
Founded by the Whaley brothers in 1983, the Hurricane quickly became Tarifa's most famous hotel, renowned for its laid-back atmosphere and unique setting. It is one of the only beach-front hotels in Tarifa, and boasts spectacular views across the straits to Morocco. The Moroccan-inspired architecture is enhanced by the tropical gardens and two large swimming pools. The hotel Beach Bar overlooks the sea, and is the perfect place for a relaxed lunch. In the evenings, the garden transforms into a candlelit restaurant overlooking the pool. The Hurricane has a gym, riding stables, a surf school, and two swimming pools.

We only stayed one night and we loved it all so we'll be back! The room was lovely (but no sea view) and the staff very friendly and welcoming. Dinner was very good, with plenty to choose from. The duck maIgret was lovely as was the sea bream. The wine list had some excellent cho

This 2-star hotel is way better than any of the 3 or 4 star hotels that I visited recently. The rooms are clean, though basic, the staff is really friendly and the location is just gorgeous. The garden is absolutely beautiful and amazes the senses with a multitude of flowers scen

We stayed for 2 nights with our 3 kids. The hotel is a lovely size, and the atmosphere is quite relaxed. The bed rooms are nice and functional.

I cannot believe this isn’t a five star hotel, it is the most beautiful perfect hotel I’ve ever been to, and I’ve been fortunate enough to stay in 5*s all around the world. It’s has a family feel, it’s the perfect size, the grounds are exquisite, there is a family and an adult po

Due to fully booked hotel we visited the restaurant only. The waiter took a double order when we asked to share fish of the day and the food was overall tasteless and pricey. Beautiful view but he killed it.

What is the frequency of the yoga classes and are they all year round or just certain months? Thanks
When we were there, they were offered three times a week. It looked like it was a regular activity.

Hello! Do you offer bike rentals?
We are in our 70s and prefer not to have to do stairs unless someone can carry our luggage. Are the rooms facing the garden on the ground floor or higher or both? Are they quiet? We will be staying in Tarifa so that we can take a day trip to Tangiers - will this work or would it be better to stay in town? Is there day parking close to the ferry port? Appreciate any suggestions. KR
Yes, there are ground floor rooms and the restaurant for breakfast and dinner is on ground floor as well. And the casual lunch place as well. It is an easy ride to town for the boat and there is parking there. However if you are only stopping to go to Tangiers then why not stay right in town and you can walk to the boat?
