A new concept in the heart of the old town. A charming rooftop terrace with panoramic views of the town of Tarifa and the African coast. It's unique and exquisitely decorated. Kook Hotel is located within the ancient walls of Tarifa, 100 meters from "La Puerta de Jerez". This accommodation is an 8-minute walk from Playa Los Lances and the harbor, where you can take the ferry to Tanger. Numerous bars, restaurants and shops can be found just a 4-minute walk away. Kook Hotel is very well located in a quiet atmosphere to relax and at the same time in the center of "la movida Tarifeña".

We spent one night here during Easter Week, having made reservations for a standard double back in August 2023. We were upgraded to a larger "premium" room which faced the narrow street. The room had a very comfortable bed, safe, two rattan chairs, desk with chair, closet, long bench for luggage, great towels, closet, safe, mini fridge, and terrific shower. The light switches were a bit odd; some had to be pressed lightly to work; others were toggled. Reception was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was substantial and did not start until 9, probably due to the holiday week. There is a lovely view from the terrace on the top floor. We took the short walk into the town to find restaurants, watch the wind surfers, and see the Semana Santa procession that evening. Spectacular, followed by ice cream. NOTE: their directions are not very clear. Coming from the roundabout off the N340 down the main street, there is a ruined tower on your LEFT. IMMEDIATELY in front, there are 3 parking spaces, one marked in yellow. Pull into the non-handicapped space on your left. Kook's indicated number 16B is BEYOND these spaces unless you are coming from the opposite direction (the port). Once you have parked, you walk into the alley to find the hotel on your left. Avoid driving into the walled city if at all possible. Reception told us how to find free street parking.

Hotel's Favorite
Very friendly and helpful hosts, great accommodations in the best location - easy parking nearby (2 minutes walking), excellent information from the hosts, great breakfast, sustainable, delicious fresh ingredients and bread and variety, one of the best we have in Spain. Center and harbor within walking distance (10-15 minutes). Tea, coffee and water always available, stylish interior and rooftop with view of Tangier. highly recommend.

This hotel is just superb. We were only there for an overnight...catching the ferry to Morocco the next day. I wish we had planned to stay longer. The front desk person was such a delight and so helpful. They normally start breakfast service at 9, but she knew our ferry left at 9 and she recommended we leave by 8 to walk to the ferry (10 min walk) and clear Spanish customs and check in. So what did they do? They created a beautifully arranged and delicious tray for our breakfast and put in our room the night before, including milk, overnight oats, etc in our mini refrigerator. So thoughtful. Later that night i decided i wanted some wine. They did not stock wine in the lounge refrigerator, only champagne. The manger/part owner was still on the premises and he went into the basement to retrieve a very nice bottle of red wine for me to take to the room. It was very good, too bad i had to leave half of it. The room is great, the bed is wonderful...and gorgeous views from the rooftop...highly recommend this hotel...and Tarifa. Just beautiful.

We had a fantastic stay. The room was better than the photos showed, especially the balcony (we stayed in room 21). The rooftop was completely amazing. The staff was super nice and helpful and very eager to make us feel comfortable, giving us all sorts of tips for what we should see and where we should eat. The design of the hotel was amazing but the atmosphere was relaxed and you felt like home.

This stylish modern hotel is hidden away in the old town. Its rooms and public areas are comfortable and stylishly decorated ( although don't drop anything small in the black handbasin or you'll struggle to find it again). Breakfast is excellent, and the staff laid back and friendly. The roof terrace is also a great place to relax at night, as long as you wrap up against the permanent Tarifa wind. There is a good value, secure public car park a few minutes walk away.

This was a lovely little hotel. A surprise inside as the entrance is very understated. Really nice touches with water, coffee, tea and fruit bowl available all day, along with a honesty bar. Great roof top terrace, kind and friendly staff and good central location inside the old town walls. Will definitely return

We took a 24 day trip to Spain & Portugal and KOOK was our favorite. It is fun and eclectic with a wonderful hostess and staff. It is tucked away in a quiet corner of the old city of Tarifa but still close to great restaurants and the ferry terminals. They told us were to conveniently park which was only bout a 2 minute walk from the hotel.

My family of four stayed in two rooms at this shadowy chic hotel in the HOPELESSLY HIP town of Tarifa before our ferry to Tangier, Morocco the following day. We LOVED the hotel. The young women who work at the front desk are super helpful and friendly, recommending one of THE best tapas meals we had (Lola, Guzman el Bueno, 5). Our rooms were cozy with stylish plaid accents, a unique change from other hotels on the trip. We loved the welcome fruit plate and sparkling wine as well as the always available water and fruit in the lobby. Breakfast was dee-lish served in the outdoor courtyard with cool green wall or you could eat in the lounge area. It was too windy for the roof deck but it looked fab. with a cool Moroccan vibe. AMAZING hotel in a great town.

We really like Tarifa - lots of nice bars and restaurants and a.nice vibe about the town too. We picked this hotel from a group of similar ones in the same price bracket for bed and breakfast. it's a quirky, trendy sort of place that when you open the main door your eyes are taken around the place. Rooms very comfortable, set in a courtyard fashion where our room had natural light but faced internally into the courtyard. All high quality fittings and comfortable bed. We thought breakfast was good, but a bit of a faff too, where Trays of bread and cheese were provided, even if you wanted them or not. Meant there was some unnecessary waste of food. Coffee and tea good and a decent selection of continental food. overall very good and recommended.

We stayed one night to attend the whale trip the next morning and we couldn’t have picked a better place. Location is perfect, nearby everything but no city noises. Great concept of serving yourself and outstanding service from beginning till departure. Because our boat trip started very early we would miss breakfast so the great Oriana organized a breakfast for in our fridge so we wouldn’t go hungry to see the orca’s and we did see them. Would definitely go back when in the neighborhood.
