I booked on 17th July for one night 23/24 July. Chose Superior room. Arrived 2pm. After I paid! was given electronic keys & "The lift is over there." I asked if the snack bar was open, saying I wanted a cup of tea. "The bar opens at 4. Would you like a kettle in your room?" "Of course! According to your room description, there is a kettle." I found my way to the room and a maid promptly brought a kettle. Luckily, I travel with some tea-bags in my case, because THERE WERE NONE in the room. Tomorrow's breakfast was already on a tray in the very warm room. No tea bags. No coffee either. A coffee-maker, yes; but you had to go down to reception and BUY capsules at 1 Euro each. No telephone in room. Breakfast therefor had only water, "orange?" drink, water or lukewarm milk. The food was wrapped -- stodgy roll, hard cake, stale croissant. No minibar (advertised) but a FAKE FRIDGE -- white cupboard lit with blue bulb, NO TEMPERATURE CONTROL, so at room temperature-- warm! It contained melting butter packets, a melted chocolate biscuit, an apple, a bottle of cheap wine --unwanted, as I don't drink alcohol. Terrace (advertised) could not be accessed. Doors screwed shut from outside. Very close to pool, so I had to keep curtains closed for privacy. I showered -- fixed-head shower, no hair-dryer; advertised toiletries were a dispenser of blue liquid fixed to the wall. Same in bathroom where the tap over the wash-basin had been welded to provide COLD water ONLY. On the table under the "breakfast tray" was a 2-page menu of expensive Mini Tapas. I went down to the bar (a sign read: Snack Bar) about 5 pm. Bar was now outdoors, in a tent on the parking area. I asked if there were tapas. "No. Only at weekends, from the Vending Machine." What is this? A 3-star hotel that treats its clients like backpackers! I asked "Where can I get a meal?" "We only have tapas at weekends...The restaurant is closed because of Covid19." On the confirmation email from Booking.com there was an Additional Notice: Restaurant closed on Tuesdays. But this is Thursday. "So, where will I find a restaurant or snack bar?" The girl shrugged, "In the town." Here I am, 83 years old. I was NOT prepared to cruise Nerja by Night in a taxi, looking for a restaurant! When I booked, when the reservation was confirmed, NOBODY TOLD ME THERE WOULD BE NO FOOD except the inclusive breakfast, with no tea or coffee. I was hungry enough to eat some of the breakfast. But I was out of there at 8 next morning, colliding with the receptionist arriving to unlock the doors & open the desk. If you want a backpackers hostel that charges 3-star prices, that's up to you. Otherwise, AVOID this Hotel of Lies!

If your not Spanish don't come here. The treatment by the pool attendant is awful. One rule for Spanish and one rule for anyone else. No Sitting by pool, no sitting on grass, no beach towel allowed by pool for drying when you come out, no t shirts on anywhere even near the pool.(all allowed if your Spanish) We know times are different but surely they should have the deceny to treat everyone the same! Do not ever visit here. Will never come back!

After visiting Hotel Arcos for many years we were a bit apprehensive about going with the ongoing presence of COVID-19 but our fears were soon put at ease by the precautions the hotel have put in place for our safety and well being. Breakfast is now served in your room on trays. It was nice sitting on our terrace outside the room enjoying yoghurt, fruit ,toast and jam, croissants. The coffee machine had been put in the pool area and serves unlimited cups of coffee and hot water for tea. The restaurant is closed inside but tables are set up outside in the garden where you can order meals from a reduced menu that has something for everyone. It was nice eating Al fresco on a warm evening. Carolina our waitress looked after us exceptionally well and is a credit to the hotel. All the staff are attentive and courteous. Overall we must give this hotel five stars for looking after us so well in these trying times Well done Los Arcos

We booked a junior suite in this hotel and got a room with a "view" on the surrounding terraces of appartments so close we had zero privacy. When we came back in our room after dinner we could not believe our eyes when we found on the table, already more than room temperature what apparantly was a breakfast for the morning after. Milk and yoghurt ready to throw in the bin and dough in plastic. Whitch was,as they called it bread. After the corona problems we know that sometimes people need to adjust to some other way. But there was a small terrace outside whitch, just like in the restaurants in Nerja could be used to serve a decent breakfast.

We spent a week in Los Arcos in Nerja from 7th to 14th March 2020 on a Bed and Breakfast basis. The hotel is located about 15-20 min walk from the old part of town. The room was very spacious with a large balcony. The room and bathroom were very clean and well maintained during our stay. The balcony had 2 sun loungers and an outdoor shower. The breakfast was basically continental with some bacon and sausages, fried eggs could be ordered and the service was excellent. The hotel staff were fantastic, very helpful. Overall holiday was enjoyable, if somewhat overshadowed by COVID 19. The hotel was well prepared with signage and sanitizers on all tables. Would stay there again.
