We looked forward to staying at this Parador and were not disappointed! Sitting alongside the Castle, the location and the style of the hotel was in total sympathy with the historic surround . With a lovely swimming pool and garden, the rooms were well equipped and very quiet. The wifi was excellent. The greeting at the hotel was very warm... More

Tapas was expensive and average. Overpriced, unimaginative standard fare. Nowhere near as good as the modern hot and cold tapas selection offered a few years ago. Orange juice was 4e50. Deserts old fashioned.

Our standard twin room was typical parador fare - comfortable, spacious but utilitarian. It had the added bonus of a sun-drenched private balcony with a view to surrounding hills. We have stayed in over 20 paradors and this one stands out for the quality of the restaurant for dinner. The gastronomic set menu was absolutely superb and incredible value -... More

Although slightly out of town, the Parador is easily accessible from all directions. It has amazing views and is well placed for the historical part of town and for accessing the countryside. All aspects of the food and service were superb.

We have been to Jaen before and would return anytime. The hotel is brilliant in both the experience and its position with spectacular views for miles around. Everything was excellent and we would return in a heartbeat.

The Parador is located in the reconstructed castle of St. Catalina. The site at the top of the mountain offers an outstanding view over the city and the area around (the city of Jaen and at distance we can distinguish the tops of Sierra Nevada). We've got mixed feelings from our visit: we had booked a "superior" room with a... More

One of the more unique hotels in the Parador chain of Spain. Located on top of a 1000ft mountain overlooking the city of Jaen. This hotel is built next to the castle ruins of Santa Catalina and is built to look like an extension of the castle. Nearly 360 degree panoramic views of Jaen, olive fields, and the surrounding Sierra... More

The parador is in the usual style extremely clean with lovely rooms to relax in and restaurant. The staff were happy in this place. If you don't like driving up a cliff edge this hotel is not for you Fantastic selection of food for breakfast I would only rate dinner as four star. It is expensive to eat three course... More

Hotel was great, stayed for one night but made use of the pool over days. Can't find fault in any of my stay. Price whilst on the high side was worth it for the views and room was excellent. If you can it's worth eating here and the can recommend the breakfast. Also the castle next for is worth a... More

We were excited to stay here especially as we had chosen the gastro package. Don't, as it was disappointing - I'm not sure the chef tasted the food as it was either too salty, too bitter.... Otherwise room was fine although a little worn, but impressive building with great views and communal areas were majestic. Breakfast was fabulous.
