My husband and I stayed here on night while visiting Ptuj. Vladimir, the owner told us the history of the house and then showed us all that we should see and in what order as we walked around Ptuj. Thanks to his advice...we were able to see all that we should. He also gave us our choice of the original room that I had chosen on line or another much easier to carry our luggage to. We chose the easier luggage access. The room was very comfortable and clean. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. We would definitely stay here again.
This place is perfectly placed to enable a walk around the town enjoying the history of this small and laid-back town. Dont be fooled by the facade. They have a long courtyard where one can enjoy the breakfast plus spacious rooms. And a fantastic host. One cannot find a more helpful host than Vladimir. it was fascinating to learn the history of Silak as it moved from a residence to a tannery and finally to a B&B. He also took pains to point out on the the places to see around the town, along with the recommended restaurants. We enjoyed a big room on the top floor which was very comfortable and clean. Highly recommended place to be if in Ptuj.
My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights as part of our Slovenia Holiday. We had a wonderful stay! As we walked in, we were greeted by Vladimir and showed around the courtyard. As we discussed our trip, Vladimir took out a map and showed us a great walk around town to see the sites, castle, river, etc. And he provided us recommendations for restaurants in town. So very helpful and friendly! The room was very comfortable and a good size for my wife and I. The breakfast was very good. The location is great and quiet and the onsite parking was a great bonus. We highly recommend this property to others and would stay here again in Ptuj.
From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by the very friendly and efficient Silak family. After seeing the beautiful courtyard and dining space, we knew we were in for a treat. During the quick check in, Vladimir gave us a very interesting overview of the property’s history and restoration....an incredible transformation. He gave us an introduction to the town and recommended sites to see. The castle tour was excellent, but don’t miss stopping by the library and climbing the stairs to the attic, where stunning exterior and interior views await. After check in, Vladimir showed us to our immaculately clean and quiet room. Onsite parking was easy and free. We highly recommend staying at the Silak property and look forward to our next visit.
I have just stayed here for six nights with 19 students and couldn’t be happier. From our first communication to checking out, Vladimir, his wife and staff have all been very helpful and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble! The price was very affordable, the place is spotlessly clean, the rooms and apartments are all very spacious and the breakfast offered was of a wide variety and all fresh. The location is great and very quiet. I would definitely book this place again if I return to Ptuj.
