If you are lucky, get a guided tour inside, it is marvelous. Very beautiful wood carving, heavy German style, but overall opulent without being flashy, with much armory. The grounds are beautiful anytime of the year, great for pictures!

I enjoyed every moment of this experience and I invite you to...

"Considered to be one of the most beautiful castles in Europe, Peles Castle was the summer residence for Romania's kings. Built by King Carol I in 1883 the castle is a masterpiece of German-Renaissance architecture with an exquisite exterior, and is surrounded by fir forests and the towering peaks of the Carpathian range."

The interiors of the castle are as grandiose as that gate history . Tourists , unfortunately , do not have access only 10 of the 170 rooms of the castle , but have the...

This turned out to be rated a surprising 'best palace ever seen' by my 12yr old daughter because she found it the 'cosiest' palace she's ever seen! That's true! Perhaps because it was built in the time of trasition from ancient to modern utilities, it has the grandeur of gilded old palaces while being designed to optimise electricity consumption. A...
