Very good hotel, however there are some points to consider… Very dark rooms with little lighting and very few sockets. There is no socket available in the bathroom. The plastic curtain in the bathroom is not the most hygienic. Regarding location, if you don't like walking, choose another location, as the hotel is located higher up in the city and about 2 to 3km away from the center and the beach. Get ready to go up and down hills…

We booked hotel and spa for a weekend for 2. The positive points: The suite was nice with a good view, the lady managing the spa was friendly and helpful. The negatives: housekeeping below standard, guests expected to fetch bath robes and towels at the reception at the other end of the hotel, although the women working there were mainly chatting with eachother. Access to the spa via a public road. Mold everywhere in the spa. After turn down of the room we had to crawl under the bed to retrieve the plastic sandals for the spa that were carelessly pushed below. Breakfast was about OK (eggs from powder) if someone would care to refill empty containers…. All that shows a profound lack of management. We might enjoy the chocolat treatment in the spa again, but certainly without the hotel.

We stayed here 2 nights. We had a duite with our own deck and lounge chairs. unfortunately those lounges had bird poop on them when we arrived and were never cleaned. nor were we offered any nlanket or towel covering to allow us to use them. the room was clean overall and very spacious. the safe in the room did not work, even after we had staff come to reset it. the tv remote did nog work in the sitting area.
Because of covid, amenities are reduced. the outdoor pool was open, and families were definitely enjoying it. the restaurant was not open the first night, and the bar had only snacks to offer. although the hotel advertises that they have a shuttle van, it was not available while we were there.
The hotel sits high on a hill anove the town of Nazare so enjoys a lovely view. We asked about bus service to the hotel are and were told there is none. this is incorrect, however. we found a bus stop 3 doors away from the hotel and discovered it makes a loop through town.
We sldo asked about restaurants and cafes nesr the hotel and were told we would need to go down to town. again this was incorrect. we found a fabulous restaurant next door.

The Miramar Hotel & Spa in Nazare has definitely seen better days. The unkempt facade is noticeable even from the outside. The corridors to the rooms in a wooden look are very dark. The carpets in the corridors are dirty and stained. The rooms are run down, furniture is scuffed, only moderately cleaned, the window could only be opened with great effort. The bathroom was also showing its age, in some places the first signs of mold were appearing. Hair shampoo and shower gel were only available in small disposable bottles. The indoor pool in the spa could only be visited for an extra fee.
On the first day there was a carafe of water in the room, which unfortunately was not refilled on the second day. Instead of glasses there were paper cups wrapped in plastic for drinking water.
The pool, whose location with a view of the Atlantic is really beautiful, was dirty and in need of urgent cleaning. The loungers and towels could be picked up at reception, some of them were very old. All loungers had large stains of bird droppings, which had obviously never been removed or cleaned.
Breakfast in the windowless room was OK but rather unloving. Here too there was a lot of individual packaging (jam, honey, Nutella, butter), the only one of seven accommodations (including guest houses) in a two-week round trip) without freshly squeezed orange juice! Staff were businesslike and friendly with no particular interest in the guests. Little consideration for ecology and recycling. For us, by far the worst hotel of the entire vacation!

It has a lot to improve, everything...Reception alone, always waiting for someone to show up. The room is dated, full of dust every day (very basic cleaning, the dust does not disappear). It is supposed to include infusions and water in the room (only on the first day, this is not replenished throughout the stay)... The first day they do not replenish the shampoo or the gel, the second day go down to the reception they do not leave toilet paper in the room. Broken light switch, the bathtub-shower wets the entire bathroom....The small pool next to the restaurant-cafeteria tables. (I omit how I saw from the room what their maintenance was like)...Dine at the hotel only by reservation, otherwise they practically don't even serve you, they advised to call their other hotel so they could bring us food (strange)... Buffet breakfast, basic , scarce....The spa, very small, 3 jets did not work, showers sensations 1, the second is a bucket of water. The view of the spa is supposed to be the beach, you can't see anything, very, very dirty glass....The location, very far from the beach, walking almost 2km...2 star hotel at most. Price, extremely expensive.

Wonderful view, friendly staff but the stay leaves a lot to be desired. There is no hour for a massage, you cannot eat without a reservation because it fills up. The room was cleaned at 5 in the afternoon, the safe does not work and they did not go to fix it. Bad experience

I’m very sad to write such a terrible review but we checked out after two hours as it felt dirty, poorly maintained and felt more two star than four star. The duvet had no cover on it. The main light flashed on and off and no one was available to change it. No tea and coffee or kettle in the room. We told reception and they moved us to another room due to the light but again there wasn’t a cover on the duvet which is so grungy! We paid to go to the private spa and there was algie up the windows and in the pool and the water just felt a bit slimy so we left. We went to hotel Praia in the centre of town which was lovely and also cheaper!

This hotel advertises spa facilities, but there are NONE! No massage, no manicures or pedicures, no facials. The indoor pool is not suitable for anything but standing under some flowing taps, and the hotel charges extra for using this pool. There are a very few sorry-looking exercise machines, and no one who can help you. Don't stay here for the facilities. The room was comfortable, the breakfast was fine but ordinary, and the outdoor pool was not very clean. You had to go to reception every time to get towels. Our stay was saved by a wonderful restaurant just down the street.

Room Tip:A sea view is great, but the balcony is noisy because it faces out over the outdoor pool.

I spent two weeks in the hotel this November. On arrival, I was warmly greeted and was even upgrated to a room with great Atlantic views. Nice. But then the sad story began. Toilet was flooding(twice), safety box didn´t work, TV didn´t work, phone didn´t work. There were even big holes in curtains. Balcony was very nice - with two moldy white plastic chairs.
But the worst was that the hotel is situated on a sharp cliff. I specifically asked for an accessible hotel due to my issues. And unlike promised, there is no free shuttle to "downtown".
When my travel agency in Finland contacted the hotel, they denied everything, Even today they deny everything. Luckily I was compensated by my travel agency nicely.
If you have any issues with walking/moving etc., stay away. Likewise, if you don't like arrogant receptionists... Staff at wine bar were just beautiful.
