Good hotel but could be so much better! Hotel is easy to find as is well signed. The reception area isn’t very welcoming as it’s dark and brown and doubles up as a bar/lounge area which is a bit strange in hotel of this size. Staff are always helpful if not over happy. Appears that COVID hasn’t got to this part of Poland as very few people apart from the staff are masked up in the hotel. Corridors leading to the rooms are gloomy whilst the balconies don’t have any furniture to relax on. We had a one room suite with one set of doors leading to the balcony and no other windows, so a bit dark. We did however have a nice side view of the lake and the hotel’s new incomplete function building opposite. The room was comfy and functional with a/c. No issues with the bed or bathroom. Breakfast was excellent with the usual array of Polish hot and cold food. We did like the option to sit outside with the lake view. The full Polish bbq on the Saturday night with live music was also excellent. Just a shame it wasn’t repeated again during the week. Rather than use the indoor pool we opted for the outdoor facilities. We hired the kayaks, pedelos and the motor boat. These are all good value although a bit dated and should really be included in the overall price. Being close to the town we ate out in the evenings and found some decent places to eat around the central area. Overall a 6 out of ten hotel which has a great lake frontage but needs some TLC to improve.

Overall: the hotel is nicely located at the lake shore. The view from the slope is exceptional. Most of the shore is occupied by the port, but we enjoyed a small beach + deckchairs. Unfortunately they have no umbrellas. The beach was quite empty during our stay. In high season it may be too small for more than 40 people. In the port you can rent a canoe (they should replace them to new ones) or hop on a boat trip. Besides the beach there is also a small swimming pool + small recreational area (3 saunas). Swimming pool has a bigger (1.3 m deep) bowl, jacuzzi and small bowl (~60 cm deep), but they only let kids over 3 years old. There are: - some sport facilities (gym, and some courts) on the other side on the street. - 2 small playgrounds (younger and older kids), sandpit, trampoline. - In the basement there is a ball pool, lot of toys, video games. - some paid arcade machines spread around (airhockey, etc). The rooms are as expected, big enough, clean, air-conditioned. 3th floor doesn't have balconies and A/C. If you bought a package, there are Swedish buffet breakfasts, lunches/dinners, and suppers. A variety of surprisingly good food (from good quality ingredients) is served. I haven't enjoyed every dish, some were too fat, though there was always something good to eat. Fish plates were often exceptional as they served catfish, tench, zander, salmon, eel. Everyday a kids menu is included. You can fetch a good tea or coffee and move to terrace to enjoy a lake view. There is also a second "a la carte" restaurant, with even better (because prepared on demand) food. The hotel is definitely kids friendly, and there is a number of families with small children. The other clients seems to be german tourists and people from corporate kickoffs. The staff is nice, though not that proactive (you need to ask them about the things). The downsides? Noise. Noise everywhere. If your room is on the south side, your window will face a construction yard (at least in JUN 2019 but that seems to take them a few more months to finish). You may be waken up by a buzz of cement pump, hammers and heavy machines as soon as 7AM as close as 10 meters from your window. The noises are heard from the playground and beach. The works are over around 1 PM. Seems like they don't want to disturb the guests for more than half of the day ;-). The staff didn't inform us about construction works beforehand. If your room is on the lake side, there is restaurant downstairs on the patio where a loud music is played until 9PM, but after there is still a lot of noise. The hotel organizes a lot of company events and the noises may be heard until midnight. There is no smoking area, but occasionally someone doesn't notice the signs and smoke there. The windows are not soundproof, so the noise is perfectly heard even if they are closed. Even if the noise is over, you may want to keep your windows closed to avoid the buzz of noisy A/C units outside. As the hotel official quiet hours are (surprise, surprise, check the hotel regulations, as they won't tell you beforehand!) 24.00-06.00, the staff doesn't do much to calm down the noisy guests on the patio. Tip: Perhaps a most quiet place is the north side, but there are not many rooms there.

When we booked for this hotel 6 months before we came. We had needed 3 rooms. In booking.com there is option for only 1 room, so by the advice of the hotel we split our order 1 room from booking.com and 2 other directly from the hotel by higher rate from booking. The hotel is very nice and the rooms are big and clean. the area for kids is great. The only issue we have is when we did "check out". We told that to pay extra money for parking. The hotel is not located in the center of the town, is outside the town and there is a lot of parking place outside the hotel. When we did "check in" no one told us that the parking is costing extra money. In my reservation that I did directly from the hotel it mention that the rooms get free parking in the hotel. In the one reservation we did from booking 6 months ago there is no mention that it will cost money ). The Receptionist said that the extra money for parking came from booking site and not from the hotel, he said that we did 3 orders and the extra money is from booking. This is not true booking site does not ask for money for parking this is hotel policy and not booking, I told him that we came with 1 car and not 3. It looks like a tax because we split our orders. I show him that in my order in my email I have a free Car Parking, so we did not pay. We came out with bad feeling that they trying to take more money from their guest.

This hotel is not right at the city center of Mikolajki but worth the extra distance. The hotel is modern, and at every corner you find the reference to the hotel, be it at the lobby, in the elevator, even the floor carpets do have the hotel signatures on it. The rooms are of top quality, clean, and quiet. You really feel in great environment. Now they have introduced a multi-language smart terminal in the rooms which is like a tourist guide, multiple languages are supported. Great! The terminal is needed though - the service personnel mostly speaks Polish language only. German visitors are more than 50% of the guests, yet almost nobody speaks German, a pity when you want to order food or drinks. Motivation of people is a bit lacking, too. A smile to the customer is worth a million! To the hotel management: please tell them to be a bit more guest-oriented, make your guests feel warmly welcomed every minute of the stay, and you can earn a 5-star ranking.......!
