Detailed Reviews
Welcome Home! Alice's provides everything you need to walk in the door and feel like you are home. Your host, Declan is wonderful to work with. He is an excellent listener and works hard to ensure you stay is the best. This self-catering home offers a fully kitted kitchen, linens, towels, washing machine, and dishwasher. We stayed a week in April 2024 and found it difficult to leave.

We have had the best week at Alice's Loft and cottages. This was a return visit and both visits were great. Declan went out of his way to ensure we had everything we needed and was very quick to respond to any questions we had. Nothing was too much trouble, we were very comfortable and also had the bonus of great weather! Thank you Declan, see you next year xx

Not our first time to stay at Alice's Loft, we came again for the two weeks over Christmas 2019/20. We are a family of 7 and the property is more than ample for us. Declan has completely refreshed the entire property from our last visit to an excellent standard and the house is very cosy and comfortable.. We had Christmas dinner in the house, and the kitchen is fitted out with all you'd need. The location is brilliant for us and Declan is always on hand should we need anything whatsoever. If traveling in Ulster / Monaghan no better place to park. See you again soon Declan 😀

Having stayed here with my family during Christmas '23, and having failed to receive any form of refund from Declan, I feel it is only fair to highlight our findings.
On arrival we were met with a flood in the kitchen, which when repaired, later moved from the sink area to the washing machine. Just when we thought things would get better, our hot water stopped working. Despite the many apologetic messages from Declan, we remained without hot water for 4 days, until Dec.27th.
Other maintenance issues like loose taps, door and window knobs, cracked flooring, and a very strong odour of smoke from the downstairs bathroom and bedroom suddenly seemed less important despite their true relevance.
Such a shame that more care and attention has not been taken to avoid many of these maintenance issues and others not listed here. Sadly, despite returning regularly to visit family in the area, we would never return here

Another wonderful stay here at Declans house with my family. We have been travelling from Scotland over the past 7/8 years and we always return here to Declan’s house when home to visit family and friends. There is ample room for my sizeable family and everyone has enough space for themselves. It is very well equipped with all your needs particularly in the kitchen and Declan is always very accommodating in providing anything extra you may need such as extra towels for your stay. House is situated in beautiful surroundings- and is well located between the towns of Castleblayney and Ballybay.
Overall a lovely and homely house, good location and a very hospitable host. Thanks Declan for another wonderful stay!!

We have stayed at Alice’s several times and it never disappoints. This May was no exception. This self-catering home has everything you need, just bring your clothes and settle in. There is a wide range of activities to be enjoyed by all members of the family. Declan is ready to assist you in making your stay a memorable experience.

Great stay at Alice’s Loft. We were there for around a month and really enjoyed our time there. The house is in a beautiful green area and not far from the village of Castleblayney which has everything you need like pubs and cafes with a cosy atmosphere. Declan and his team helped with everything we needed and communication was great throughout. Would definitely recommend to others and come back next year!

Declan always makes us feel home when we are there. We have stayed at Alices several times and always felt very welcomed and comfortable. Our favorite spot was the viewing area which we took advantage of a few times... The area is just beautiful

We stayed here to visit family in Castleblayney and were so pleased to find such a wonderful home for the week! The house is cosy and Declan (the host) couldn't be more helpful. We had an issue one evening (nothing major) and he had it sorted within 2 hours, even though we had texted him gone 7pm. Fabulous service! We loved being so close to Blayney and Monaghan and my son (6 months old) enjoyed meeting the local cows who decided to investigate the parking area one morning :') We can't wait to come back next year.
