We recently stayed for one night at Bellinter and I would agree that the house is a little faded and probably in need of an update right now to justify its prices, but in general it has a lovely air of staying at your rich and decadent friend's faded country residence for the weekend. We stayed in one of the... More

We liked the location but the walk around the grounds was a bit limited. Check-in was fine. The room was fine too with a nice view over the front lawn. We liked the linens and the bed was very comfortable. However, we were surprised that there is no complementary water included in the room rate - this would be standard... More

It was with a great surprise that we found Bellinter to be slighted dated in it's cleanliness and if I'm honest, scruffy in it's appearance. The dining area was seemingly full of out couches and low-level tables, nothing spectacular at all and a real let-down. The food was only okay, the menu was extremely limited and the price was not... Bellinter is a beautiful old house, the drawing room, library, game room and reception areas are lovely. The spa is quite basic but we enjoyed our treatments. We stayed in The Pavilion rooms and for the price paid it was really not up to the standard you would expect. The paint was cracked and peeling in many places and there... More

My husband booked us a night in Bellinter for my 30th birthday. We have been many times for dinner to the fab Eden restaurant but had always wanted to stay over. Well it definately lived up to expectations. We stayed in the main house- original bare floorboards, marble fireplaces and vintage sinks....our room was beautiful, comfortable and spotless. We had... Spent 2 nights in this gorgeous home in early July. The house and staff are very welcoming, our room was clean and comfortable, and the grounds are quiet and tranquil. The reception rooms are very homely with big comfy chairs for relaxing in. We did not think it was any way "shabby" as other reviews have claimed. We spent a... More

Stayed in bellinter for dinner B&B. Our bedroom was very basic. Probably expected a little better quality. Overall the house in need of a little TIC. Dinner was very good however the dining room is a little dated and dark. We had the leisure centre to ourselves on the Sunday morning. Unable to use outdoor hot tub as it was... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Bellinter House selected in the top new Hotels in the world by the Conde Nast Traveller Hot List 2007. Quote from Conde Nast Traveller Hot List 2007 review: "Huge original fireplaces and antique mirrors ... mesh with original designer furniture and quirky lighting in the atmospheric Drawing Room. The grandeur of great wooden staircases and beautifully embellished plasterwork is softened by personal touches such as lightbox wardrobes." ... more   less
