We had a lovely one night stay at the Carlingford House - our room at the front was a good size, beautifully decorated with a super view of a ruined castle by the Lough. Irene was very welcoming and helpful with recommendations for restaurants in the village. Only downside was that during the winter months there is no breakfast offered... More

Our 1st time staying here & we'll definitely be back. Beautiful & classic decor, excellence value (too good), spotless, quiet, friendly, excellent facilities & even Kit-Kats in the rooms to have with our coffee! Can't ask for better than that!

The owners are so cute and super nice we love them to death they were extremely accommodating told us not to come home early and to make sure we went to the pub! Beautiful home each room has its own bathrooms very close distance to town to walk to the local pubs and shops will stay there again

This is our third time staying in Carlingford House the last being Aug 2014. Irene and Peter the owners were on holiday this time so the rate was reduced and didnt include breakfast. We liaised with Erin their house sitter who was very helpful and gave us some suggestions of good places to eat nearby. We were in room 3... More

Many thanks for your kind review. Sorry we missed you on your recent stay with us, but we do have to take a break now and then so rather than close we offer room only. Its works for those who like to stay in a quiet and central area. Hope to have you back with us again. More

Decided last minute to try and book here. Luckily there was a cancellation. Got a massive bedroom with an ensuite bathroom. Due to Irene and Peter being away it was room only but Erin recommended a lovely restaurant for breakfast (the food house). If you're going to Carlingford I would definitely recommend staying here.

We stayed 2 days and would of stayed longer if we could. Irene and Peter are great. The comfort of the room with bottled water, cookies and Mimi chocolate bars are a wonderful touch. They booked a golf game at the nearby course, suggested many places to eat and enjoy the evening music. One of the locals said that he would book... More

Stayed for one night on Sunday 29 August 2016. We were made to feel very welcome from the moment we stepped inside. This hospitality continued throughout our short stay without being intrusive. Carlingford House is a beautiful period building 1 minute walk from the historic village. We stayed in an en suite bedroom which was spotlessly clean and comfortable with... More

Stayed for two nights this week and it was most enjoyable. Found Peter & Irene to be as friendly and hospitable as all other previous reviews suggest. Great breakfast, great location, house spotlessly clean and bed very comfortable in a lovely quiet area. Would definitely recommend to friends/family wanting to visit Carlingford.

I spent two nights in Carlingford house recently, Irene and Peter Finegan are really welcoming and helpful. The house is gorgeous and the room lovely and spotless. We enjoyed beautiful freshly cooked breakfasts each morning. This was the best experience I have had in a B and B in a very long time. I look forward to staying there again... More
