My wife, myself, and my mother in law stayed at Ballinderry Park for one short evening. We found the place fascinating and beautiful, if a little shy of standard amenities. The rooms are a bit drafty. There are no showers, only hand held sprayers. The beds are reasonably comfortable, but not what I'd call luxurious. No TV. No wifi. Just... More

Hard to find - but we did. George gives outstanding directions and once you arrive, you won't be sorry. We stayed in the Grey Room and it was lovely, comfortable and warm. George is a kind man who makes you feel right at home and very comfortable. He has a cute dachshund who jumped in our car upon our departure.... More

After having given us the choice between the grey hued bedroom and the yellow one (we naturally chose grey), George asked us downstairs into the drawing room and, lighting a fire not with peat but with fragrant logs, told us poignant stories of an older, gentler, sadly vanishing Ireland. Soft rains fell outside (splendid sun breaking through the clouds every... More

What a find ! George, you're an amazing man ;). Trawling the internet for quality places to stay in Ireland, we came-upon Ballinderry Park which was close to a number of properties we wanted to view and not too far from Galway City. Took us a little-while to find the house as the location is not well signposted and we... More

We stayed in Ballinderry Park for a night recently on our way to Galway. We arrived just in time for a lovely dinner and had to leave early after a great breakfast. A very short stay but we loved the house, the food and the company .It was a magic moment.

This was the first stop on our honeymoon after an overnight, transatlantic flight and I can't imagine a better way to begin the trip. We were exhausted on arrival and rested up in the extremely comfortable room. George treated us to a wonderful homemade soup for lunch and we were off to check out the charming town of Ballinasloe, which... More

We stayed with George for only one night, but wished we could have stayed longer! It was literally like stepping into a Jane Austen novel. The rooms are big and comfortable. George cooked us am amazing dinner (and breakfast). He is a gracious host and we wanted to just move in. The location can be a little hard to find... More

Peaceful, striking and authentic, Ballinderry Park offers guests a warm and private respite, surrounded by soft rolling fields and picturesque mature trees. A restored Georgian country house from the 18th century, Ballinderry Park has been attentively and honestly restored by its owners, George and Susie Gossip. When you walk in to the main entry hall, you are struck by the... More

George was extremely helpful in setting up the booking. I arrived late by car from the UK because the flights were cancelled and he stayed up until after midnight in case I couldn't find the house in the dark. He couldn't have been more welcoming - a fire blazing in the drawing room and fine red wine on arrival. The... More

this place is a hidden gem. Impeccably decorated, oozing with charm, delicious cuisine, friendly dogs, fantastic hosts and a beautiful property. if you would rather feel like you're staying at a irish nobleman's countryhouse instead of a hotel, then you should definitely stay here. definitely have dinner there! make sure to rent a car since you'll want to explore the...
