Stayed here for 3 nights via a hotels.com reservation with breakfast included. Everything was absolutely super. Can't recommend this hotel enough. We arrived around 10 pm after driving for about 6 hours and check in was very prompt and efficient. The room we had was absolutely stunning with a massive bay window over looking the beach, with 2 chairs to... More

If we had known how great this hotel would be, I would have planned a much longer visit! Great location from which to explore Donegal, or just relax on their incredible beach! Rooms are a little old, but clean and spacious, and you can't believe the view! Breakfast was also terrific.

I spent this weekend at the sandhouse and a very enjoyable weekend. If you are looking for a quiet few nights this is excellent. It is peaceful and a very friendly hotel. Staff are polite and courteous. Wifi was not good but that was not an issue for me. The bar food menu could do with work. The only food... More

Stayed 2 nights here during our trip. We had an oceanfront room and it was clean and nice. Onsite pub was nice for a nightcap although we did notice if you went behind the bar and around a wall there was another bar area must have been for the locals because the door going in was locked and it seemed... We have never stayed in the hotel but we eat a lot in the restaurant and it is the best in the area, Staff are very friendly and helpful. Views from the restaurant are fabulous overlooking the magnificent beach and if your are lucky you can see all the surfers in action. The food is first class and is highly... More

All staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel was spotless and food was first rate, from fully served breakfast to 3 course evening meal and fairly priced bar menu which meant we didn't have to leave hotel. Room (family) had an ocean view, 2single and a double bed, plenty of wardrobe and drawer space, TV, hairdryer and coffee making facilities.... More

The hotel is top class with plenty of facilities. It is right on the beach. The beach itself is amazing. The place is small and quaint with just the hotel in it. The surf bar attached to the hotel is great with wonderful staff. Hit the like button if I have helped you, thanks

This hotel is a wonderful stay to experience "life long ago" but with all the modern amenities. The dining room is beautifully set and has a spectacular view. Our room had some lovely period pieces--right out of Downton Abbey. The best attribute of this hotel is the staff. From the receptionist to the cleaning person, everyone was so nice and... More

We went there today on a day trip expecting a hotel to be able to provide a hot lunch but no. we tried the Surfers bar first-only toasties and soup available and to our surprise, the main hotel is exactly the same. I have never come across a hotel which doesn't really cater for hungry guests!! my advice-go up to... More

Seriously great views - we arrived to watch at least 40 surfers enjoying the water, watching directly from our room where we could fall asleep to the sound of the surf. The wind was crazy, but on the rainy day we had, it was fantastic to sit in the easy chair facing the ocean to read. Breakfast was made to... More
