Very friendly and helpful staff got our group of 17 settled in. They offered us dinner (at a cost) but we opted to go back into Selfoss for dinner. Many of the rooms have shared bathroom facilities that were clean however I wish there had been more shower facilities. The breakfast was good and what I consider to be traditionally European with the addition of pickled herring. The wifi was good. The only negative was that the rooms were pretty spartan and utilitarian, and the walls were thin so it was kinda noisy.

The property is run by a lovely and very friendly couple who makes you feel very comfortable and fully enjoy your stay. Amazing spot to catch the northern lights, eventually you also have the opportunity to taste one of the best breakfast made by fresh food and hand made jams. Highly recommended! Luigi e Valeria

Very welcoming people who run this guesthouse with hard work, kindness and full service in a lot of details. They don’t have a restaurant but every night they’re able to make a homemade dinner for you. We had a delicious salmon steak.

We booked the guesthouse for our 1st night in Iceland. I’m glad that our next 6 nights elsewhere were not the same. First, the breakfast was delicious! Unfortunately our room was in the basement and had a ton of flies. Although we paid extra for a private bathroom, it was infested so we tried not to use it. The owners were not on the property but they hired a lovely girl who worked very hard to make breakfast such a success. There is definitely room for approvement at this establishment.

I had the most amazing stay here. Incredibly welcoming people and the guesthouse is in a beautiful location. As an individual, you are made to feel special and an interest in you will be taken, for example I play guitar and picked up an acoustic sitting on one of the chairs and one of the members of staff who also happened to play, took a massive interest and we ended up jamming together and growing a friendship. The food is fresh and traditional and you can taste the benefits, beds are comfy and the rooms are cosy. It honestly has such a nice environment, there’s also a games room and free wifi. I couldn’t think of a better place to stay whilst being in Iceland! Thank you for your hospitality Bitra! I will be returning.

Bitra is a very friendly B&B. The stuff is very kind. We needed breakfast one hour earlier and they fixed it. It was very good. Rooms are basic, but comfortable and clean. Same goes for bathrooms. It's easy to find and there is free parking. Price is good. The blond tall guy at the front desk is super cute...

Lovely B&B, very clean and comfortable. Perfect spot to watch the sunset on the balcony in Summer and northern lights in Winter. Staff were so friendly and helpful and breakfast was delicious. Wish we could stay longer!

I didn't actually stay here, but they were kind enough to allow me to cancel a reservation without penalty as a result of WOW Air discontinuing flights from SFO. On this basis, I would surely stay with them when I finally get to visit Iceland.

As soon as we pulled up it felt like home. Beautiful setting with hills and fields surrounding. Icelandic horses a couple of fields away just topped off the views. We arrived mid snow storm so the track up to the guesthouse (slight incline and thick snow) was a little slippy even in our 4wd so take care when driving off road in bad weather. Fairy lights and clean but interesting décor gave the place a cosy and welcoming feel. The gentlemen that helped us to check in was extremely friendly and helpful. Our room was basic but clean and homely with a balcony looking over the snowy fields and hills. We had dinner here and it was absolutely delicious. Home cooked Icelandic Salmon - healthy and warming. A little on the expensive side (as it was about the same price as staying there for the night) but well worth it. All in all a fabulous stay and highly recommended if passing through the area. (15-20 min drive to Selfoss if you fancy eating somewhere else or visiting the little town)

We drove around the Iceland and did´t book the last places to stay beforehand. This was just something we hit by searching by google, booked and then afterwards read the reviews. Totally perfect, one of the best places we stayed. Wonderful breakfast, really nice service, enough bathrooms, cozy rooms, Just very, very good. We were travelling off-season but still this place was fully booked - tells a lot about the place. Thank you!
