A luxury hotel in the National Park, not far from Reykjavik. The rooms were comfortable (mid sized), clean with good facilities. The food was fresh and good, but expensive compared to other places we have stayed at in Iceland (and Iceland is expensive as a whole, so the comment is relative). Poor Internet, but they are limited to having only... More

Lovely hotel made up of a variety of buildings with clean, ample, well-appointed rooms. Hot-tubs were located between the buildings in clusters so that it was easy for one to be for children and another for adults. Some shade would have been nice over them, though. Hotel restaurant was adequate but nothing very special except for the high-quality opera singer... More

A friend told me about Hotel Grimsborgir when I was making my Iceland plans, and I am not disappointed. From the time you check-in, you will notice the clean, fresh and bright dining area adjoining the reception area. The rooms or houses are separate buildings built around a circle a short distance away. Our room was probably typical, in a... More

We loved the Grimsborgir. It is clean, convenient and has a great restaurant. There are not too many good options in this area of Iceland and the Grimsborgir is a very good choice for a night or two in this part of the country.

This was such a nice surprise to land up here as we had no idea as to what hotels we were staying at during the five night trip. Fantastic room and view from room. The accommodation is set up in a few different buildings with the main building for the lobby and restaurant. Didn't have any experience with check in... More

I originally booked this hotel because nothing in Selfoss was available. But we were happy to stay there. The rooms were tastefully appointed with an excellent bed, and our room had a balcony overlooking some woods with a view to the farms beyond. There are also hot tubs outside each hotel building in the complex. This was a good place... More

We spent three wonderful days at the Grimsborgir. We had junior suite rooms, and they were spacious and comfortable. There were two hot tubs just outside our rooms -- very convenient. The hotel is well-located for touring on the south coast of Iceland. The hotel restaurant is very good, and we enjoyed the lounge.

I was disappointed with Krasti at the front desk. She was more concerned with getting her point across than treating me as a valued guest who can refer additional guest to Hotel Grimsborgir. I pre-paid for a room with an online booking site many months ago. I made a mistake at the time of booking and only made the reservation... More

This is a well located hotel just north of Selfoss and a great (luxurious by Iceland standards) base for many popular activities in the area. The rooms in the hotel are the nicest that we saw in Iceland. Very North-American in size and very comfortable (great bed!). My wife and I had a standard room in the first building behind... More

In picturesque tranquil surroundings, rooms were decent size. Helpful young lady handling check-in and taking us to the actual building may, we found out later, actually have been the manager. Dining room tastefully done.
