We thoroughly enjoyed our two night stay at this property. Following a warm greeting at reception, we were driven to our building and escorted to our corner room. PROS: Clean room Comfy beds Excellent breakfast buffet - many choices (and sparkling wine!) Great location for day trips Hot tubs (although we didn't use) Comfy robes Bathroom was nice size with... The best feature of Grimsborgir hotel are the private tubs with mineral water so if you make a booking, be sure you have a room or rather a house with a tub. I have to say the 2 of us were so lucky that we got one big house which would accommodate at least 6 or more for a price... More

The service was wonderful. We got checked in then they drove in a car in front of us to take us to our room. The room was very elegant and very well put together. If I came back to this area I would stay here again.

The first thing you should know about Hotel Grimsborgir is that they have gorgeous, clean, comfortable rooms. Crisp white interiors, super comfortable beds and immaculate grounds inside and out. Possibly the most well-kept hotel I've ever stayed in. Pros : - GREAT dinner buffet. Huge variety of Icelandic and non-Icelandic foods. Expensive, but in line with Icelandic pricing. - As... More

We had a good 3 night stay at the hotel in July of 2016. The hotel was nice, service was good and the rooms were excellent. Breakfast was well done and had many options so that all 4 of us found something we liked each morning. We also enjoyed the outdoor hot tubs. Only criticism would be the loud in-room... More

We have visited Iceland twice now and made a point of staying in this hotel on both occasions. It's always clean, the staff are excellent and go out of their way to help. The food is of a very high standard and the surroundings are gorgeous. We will definitely be back again one day.

We stayed here for our last night in a three week road trip around Iceland. It was fantastic. Good service, good evening meal (there was a buffet evening on with a very wide choice), excellent breakfast, pleasant people.

Friendly staff. Modern clean rooms. Fantastic views and location. Great breakfast. Restaurant top quality food, though expensive. I would recommend this as a fantastic place to stay. Best we found in Iceland.

Suite 2 was located on the ground floor of one of the detached accommodation units to the rear of the reception/dining block. The hotel is modern and its appearance is probably designed to attract the luxury end of the market, although it appears to cater for tourist groups also. Our suite, which we occupied for one night on July 9th... More

The big pluses- a wonderful buffet at dinner, a very friendly accommodating staff, good location with views. Our room was well designed with comfortable beds and all the necessary amenities. However, it was small. Had we been able to use the terrace, we would have had more than adequate space. We did not use the terrace, because we did not... More
