I don’t know exactly what qualifies as a “guesthouse” in Iceland, but this facility is barely a step up from a hostel or an aging dormitory. It is likely fine for backpackers and those camping who might need something beyond a tent for a night or two, but it is not a good choice for couples or families traveling in... More

This definitely can't be called a guesthouse. It looked more like a hostel ! The worst place we've stayed in Iceland. The mattress and pillows were very uncomfortable. The kitchen - omg- a place of horror - very badly equipped and not even a spounge to wash the dishes.

Stayed for a night travelling the ring road. It was part of a package we purchased (rental car and accommodation). Our experience was a good one in a private room with its own bathroom/shower in the yellow guesthouse. View to the back of the farm including sheep and other animals. Friendly staff despite our late arrival (sorry about that) and... More

At Klausturhof Guesthouse we had the worst stay ever. The room was anywhere near how it was presented in the picture, it was very dirty and bed sheets have not even been replaced from previous use. Bed sheets had black sand and hairs in it and also covered by stains some of which were blood stains. This was an extremely... More

We cannot believe that any positive comment is genuine. This hotel is horror. We paid about 270€ for a family room with 4 people. The bathroom was ridiculous. Shared with a lot of other rooms, dirty and with a shower thar stopped every 30". We booked this place because we could not find anything else available. Afterwards we would have... More

We just completed a Ring Road trip and stayed in 12 hotels all of which were clean and nice except for this one. We arrived late and found we were in a building in the back of the hotel. Everything was falling apart and dilapidated. The bed linens were threadbare. The room was so tiny there was no room to... More

Clean and nice, beautiful landscape! Friendly reception. Great shared kitchen and an amazing view! Super easy to find. You definitely want to book nearly six months ahead. Restaurant and gas station very nearby and easy to find

We arrived 3.45pm and had to wait a few minutes for reception to open at 4pm. The man who served us was very helpful and polite. We requested a quiet room as we had read reviews that spoke about noise. The man on reception put us in the orange house which has 6 rooms only. There are two toilets and... More

We stayed here during a self-guided tour so we did not book this hotel on our own and honestly probably wouldn't have if the choice was up to us. The location is beautiful - nestled into the side of a hill, by a river, right by a farm and immediately next to a path leading up to a lake. The... More

We were in a room off to the side of the main building. When we checked in, the gentleman was super nice and took the time to show us things of the map that we could do. Hot shower. Clean. Would stay here again.
