Hi guys, Stayed for just 1 night. The room was fairly large and clean. It was quiet. I asked for a quiet room and I got one. Probably in the newest section. There were no school children. So I was lucky. The fridge was kaput. I used my car as a fridge. It was 5 degrees. The food was very tastefull. A kettle in the room. No coffeemaker. Downstairs is a coffemaker. But the coffee is not for free. regards schliek.
I went with my class as a teacher and I loved the staff and the food was excellent, the price was shockingly good and great! I could not be happier. The kids had never been to a hotel and loved every single second of the stay. I slept like a rock in those comfy beds, I recomend dearly going to Hotel Örk.
We stayed here in November for two nights and it was amazing. The quiet location away from the main city was just right for us and the local area was everything plus more. It had snowed when we arrived and we were there for the lighting of the village Christmas tree. It was something out of a film!! Back at the hotel, the room was clean, large and warm. The view out of the window was breathtaking and I didn't want to leave. Breakfast was never busy and there was a large selection, all tasted great. We had dinner one evening in the restaurant and although the menu was limited it was filling and the wine was tasty. The location of the hotel meant we had access to the main road and access to the many attractions we wanted to see, although whoch out for the snow!! What did make our stay was the security guard, he was amazing and we learnt so much about the culture and way of life in Iceland from him when we woke at 3am and decided to go for a walk both nights, in an attempt to see the Northern lights. Because of the snow this didn't happen but this only means we have to return!! A fantastic hotel and I can't wait to return.…
Stay for two night. Friendly staff on reception. Room a good size and clean. View overlooking the entrance but very little noise. Breakfast was a mixture of a hot and cold style buffet. Plenty of choice. We ate quite early and the dining area never felt busy. Didn't eat in the restaurant as nothing to our liking. Definitely a good place to stay for a couple of nights.
Spent a night here in April. Very clean and comfortable beds and linen top class, lovely food good for vegetarian , breakfast also lovely staff couldn't have been any nicer. Very near bus from Reykjavik Great place all round .
We were there with a large group and our teenage children. This place is a must stay if you have kids in your group. The rooms are upscale and remodeled. They have a natural hot springs pool and a game room for kids. Our kids had a blast while we left and visited local bars within walking distance.
Beautiful white minimalist spacious hotel. Definitely large hotel room by european standards, clean modern aesthetic. Has toiletries! comfortable beds. Near a bakery, supermarket, food court and a pizza place. Supposed to have good restaurant inside the hotel but was fully booked. Breakfast is excellent with good variety- has hot food! Best hotel in my 6 day iceland tour.
We stayed for 1 night and our bedroom (in the main hotel) was comfortable but a bit dated however there were some nice little extras in the room. The breakfast was plentiful, tasty and varied. It's a big hotel so attracts large groups this wasn't an issue for us but appreciate it may be for some. We didn't have time to use the pools but when we enquired we were told that the slides were not open as it was still out of season.
Very good service, nice restraurant with very good food. Very nice to relax int he swimmingpool and the sauna after been travelling. Love the location, not far from Reykjavik but still got the country atmosphere.
Horrible and Scary experience ! We were woken up by a stranger a 3.50am breaking into our room and standing in front of our bed while we were asleep !! The room was properly locked and cannot be opened unless you have the card key! We had to barricade the room with a sofa for the rest of the night (sleepless). Called immediatly reception to warn them of this stranger breaking into rooms and they did not bother doing anything ("we will have maintenance looking at the door lock it in the morning"), not even checking the logs of entrances into that room, of the security cameras, and why this is even possible (why give a stranger an access card that can open our room?) . Either way complete lack of response from the hotel, do not care at all about security (I told them where the stranger ran out and the next room he entered into, they said they eventually "listened to this door but there was no response so they walked away.."). If you intend to stay at this hotel, make sure you BARRICADE the room door with heavy sofa and desk, and that you keep q DEFENSIVE object to defend yourself close to your bed, for your own protection. Needless to say this was a completely sleepless night and my partner is still very shaken by the experience. Thankfully the stranger was unarmed and we were able to kick him out of the room. I am still wondering if the most shocking was being woken up by a stranger standing in front of our bed, or the complete lack of professionalism of the hotel.…
