This place was outstanding-in a country where great hotels are few and far between. We had a large and comfortable room. The front desk very welcoming and friendly. And we had the best dinner of our vacation at their restaurant.

We had a charming room with a lovely view of the stream and the hills behind the hotel. Watching the northern lights from the hot tub was one of the coolest experiences. The restaurant was very good and everyone at the hotel was lovely. It was a perfect place to stop and stay when driving back from east to town.

My Fiance and I stayed here for a night whilst touring the area, we were really impressed with the location and views, even from our room which had a fantastic view directly across the geothermal river Varma, and the sprawling steam hills, we could even see the waterfall directly next to the hotel! The hotel itself was modern and inviting,...

We arrived at the hotel late at night around 11 pm and didn't know what to expect. It turned out an amazing stay. The room was spacious, with a balcony giving on the river...the HOT POT experience in the middle of the night was just amazing, relaxing and revitalizing!! Breakfast was also tasty and rich....definitely a place to stay at...

The 3 best things were: The best lamb ever (restaurant): Vi had lambs on our own at home, and cooked and eaten a lot good lamb meat before. But this vulkano cooked lamb was really fantastic! The hot pot and the river beside: Try the bath in the river too! Its not very cold, but very refreshing, the water is...

The hotel is located just outside the shopping area of the town and uphill, but would still be walk-able to those able and willing. It is kind of ordinary looking from the outside but has more than one building and some rooms faced the river. We had an excellent corner room with views toward the river. Our room was neat...

This hotel is in a wonderful location beside a river and amongst hot springs. The staff, both on reception and in the restaurant, are extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent and taken in the "conservatory" overlooking the river. Evening meals are very expensive so we ate out at a small "pasta and panini" cafe on the main road up...

The staff were very friendly when showing us to our room. It was very basic had a slight smell of smoke, this might have something to do with the fact that you are surrounded by hot springs and the smell of sulphur is very strong. We enjoyed the afternoon relaxing in the hot tubs and spa, despite the fact that...

The staff was so so so helpful and pleasant. We arrived tired from our first day of exploring (and the overnight flight), and the warm reception, with cheerful answers to our many questions, was so nice. The room was clean and simple and a comfortable size. We had a late dinner at the restaurant, which was delicious. They use a...

Fire & Frost is located a short drive from Reykjavik, and would be a great location for someone looking to stay outside of Reykjavik but who does want to head into the city on occasion. Fire & Frost is pretty centrally located in general, with the Golden Circle being an easy drive, and being in the direction of Skogafoss, Seljalandfoss,...
